The fundraising minimum is $1800 for the Avon Walk. There is a "volunteer" level of $500. My mom was disgusted by this when she heard about it, but she doesn't get it. If there were no barrier to walking, everyone would do it and the event would cost more money to put on than it would raise for grants and such. Once we got to the walk last year, DH understood what it meant to everyone there and since he had been helping us train, wanted to just write the $1800 check right there and join. He refused to walk with us part way, saying, "every person walking represents at least $1800 for the cause - I don't want to take away from that." You can see why I truly believe he is my better half :hear t: /end gushy story!

Thanks! Hahaha, funny you say artistry. I was thinking about the 3 other people in my studio art class from HS... 1 is a mural painter, 1 is a cartoonist/animator, another is a drag queen and then there's me... naughty dessert creator! :lm ao:

Thank you! Blowkiss There's definitely a market for things like that, but for Jello shots I think I would need one of those pesky liquor licenses...other anatomical desserts though.... Scratchchin The lady we made bachelorette party cookies for said she had called her local bakery that does custom stuff and they told her "We don't want to be known for doing something like that" but I have no shame :tee hee:
Yes, your DH is definitely the better half! Very solid on his beliefs and really, what a great way to see it. I guess in the bigger picture, it makes sense nod But that is A LOT of fundraising shake head

You should totally run a business with that artistry of yours! Especially since you have no shame! Weren't we supposed to have some kind of baking date session? I can't remember, but I know it's out there Scratchhead

Thanks! My bestie is obsessed now. She wants to do more yard sales. We will probably have one at her house this summer. In our county, you can only have one a year.

Now I am overwhelmed with VS packages. And my friend is coming in town tomorrow. I have to get to work!
I read "country" and I was thinking, there are people down the street who do it multiple times a year! Confused Well, once a year is good! Chance to get rid of all that extra stuff.
Definitely know the feeling. My return/rebuys are winding down. Just need to do that for one set of bikinis and I'll be done with VS for a long while nod

i've been trying really hard to clear out my drugstore closet so i try to only use 1 or 2 at a time. the 25 oz bottles are difficult though - i will probably have to alternate at some point. i like it bc the conditioner is silicone-free - i find those to be better for my back (less breakouts). i still have some conditioners in my stash that are chock full of silicones - i've been using a pantene one and my back has been breaking out more than usual. : (

i go through shampoo faster than conditioner too, so i have to buy 2x as much shampoo. DH also uses my shampoo sometimes but not conditioner.
I did not know that! I guess that totally makes sense! Are the breakouts from your hair touching your bare back? Or the shampoo running down your back? So I guess Tresemme is the way to go? I was kinda impartial to the Ojon one. But I got rid of it when alvs (I think? or someone on the thread) mentioned it messing her hair up.

I run through shampoo at the same rate you do. But that's because I mostly only condition the tips and then the rest of the hair once a week

The one we got for free from sephora stopped working for me after awhile. I really like their volume line. Got a sample kit from ulta and it's awesome.

i'm not 100% sure - it could be a number of things - but my skin is somewhat sensitive to silicones in general so i figure it's probably at least part of the cause. i think it comes from remnants of conditioner being left on your skin from the shower + your hair touching your back. i think silicones are bad for your hair since they cause product build-up.

it prob wasn't alvs bc she seems to like the ojon. i vaguely remember someone saying how asian hair behaves differently to the same product than other hair... something about keratin? Dontknow perhaps you and i need to share tips. laugh out loud my hair is a lot less manageable though due to its frizzy/curly nature. but drying it at night and sleeping on it helps a lot.

i used a big bottle of a silicone-free conditioner (schwarzkopf - recommended by someone in here) and i really liked it. i'm just looking for a hopefully cheaper alternative. high hopes for this tresemme naturals! (i've only used it a few times so far so nothing conclusive yet)

i tend to wash my hair twice when i'm in the shower. i only condition once, and i wash my hair about every other day (i try to go as long as possible but 2 days is usually the max before it's terrible).

i had DH help me finish that shampoo. i'm not sure what happened to the conditioner. it may be in my growing pile of half-used conditioners. laugh out loud

Not sure if anyone needs anything from sephora, but the samples are really awesome. There's a mini Guerlain mascara that is perfect for a small purse and a mini ren mask (which I really like). I ordered something for the UD pencil in smoke, which I also really like.

That MUFE kit is still $63.30 through today.

Sephora online was out of my shade of foundation, so the store said they would match the price. The lady showed me how to put on foundation one shade darker and use bronzer. It looked so good. I was reall surprised. I should get more express services done at sephora more. They also let me use my VIB discount on top of the promotional price Smilie

Have any of you ever had good/bad experiences with Bloomingdale's customer service over the phone? My goodness! I just spent almost a combined 45 minutes on the phone with them to place 1 item.

After I placed the order, the email confirmation came, but the shipping address was incorrect so I had to call back to have them fix it. Then I was transferred again b/c the original CSR didn't ask for my rewards program # so I had to talk to yet another CSR in the rewards department to include this order to the rewards program.

The website listed that the item I wanted was unavailable at the moment, but the item is available when I inquired through the phone.

The CSR that took my order had a really thick accent. When I called back to get the right shipping address, I asked the CSR if they have phone reps worldwide, and they do (Philippines and India.)

I really applaud all of you who call VS customer service often or any other retail customer service.

Anyone tried the 2 1/2" seamed shorts? http://www.express.com/clothing/2.../cat320019 I don't remember anyone mentioning them. It's not like I need any shorts, but I'm still considering ordering some. Facepalm I'm kicking myself for returning the aurora (teal) sailor shorts, just because they're OOS now & I couldn't get them if I wanted to. shake head

they are still working. i'm just being cheap. : ) besides it's been oos for awhile already.

my hair is pretty blah - no shampoo/conditioner ever makes it "better", but some make it worse. i.e. i did not like that ojon that so many ppl like. so i guess it's a pretty personal choice!

anyway, i like tresemme products in general. i've been using the heat tamer spray for years, and just decided to try their naturals line of shampoo. it's ok so far - nothing amazing but not bad. i like the conditioner better than the pantene i was using before.
My hair is bad to tangle. I'd love to find a cheap shampoo & conditioner that prevents tangling. Unfortunately, the s/c I use make a big difference with how my hair looks. Those are the only products I use 95% of the time. That helps to keep cost down, but I'd like to spend even less. Stick Out Tongue

You shouldn't be cheap, if you see that dress again. It would look great on you, esp. in the raspberry color.

Hmmm is tangling something that happens with finer hair? I don't usually have terrible tangling.

The shorts might come bis.. You already returned it? Frown

I've seen the seamed shorts but haven't tried them on yet. They have cuffs. That means they could potentially be longer. Scratchchin

*edit* the photo of the white pair seems to show them uncuffed. I like that length! Will need to try on and see!

I really like that ojon. I have a really big cowlick on the right side of my head, right above my ear. It's such a pain. I started using that ojon stuff, and it went away. I alternate with the wen stuff icey likes as well. I mean, my cowlick is totally gone. I was telling the sephora lady about it, and she was surprised.

I told DBF (the scientist) about it, and he said the answer was obvious (to him). Apparently, shampoo is full of some of the harshest chemicals we can use. Shampoo breaks the hair bonds to break up the oil and conditioner repairs it (which is why conditioner is so important). I guess using less harsh ingredients (things that are not parabens or sulfates) break less of the good bonds...or something. He sent me an article about this several months ago. I'll see if I can dig it up...

I would love to read the article! I've been trying to stay away from sulfates as much as I can, but it's not a hard rule for me. I don't like silicones though, because I feel like they're cheating and not actually conditioning your hair - they just feel smooth so you think your hair is conditioned. I think my issue with that ojon was less about the shampoo than conditioner. The shampoo made my hair greasy, but the conditioner made it worse. I think.

Some people out there use baking soda and apple cider vinegar instead of shampoo and conditioner.

I tried using diluted shampoo as a compromise but eventually got too lazy.
