Baby stopped his terrible crying around 3 months of age.. he lets us know he's tired by going "HMMMM HMMMM" loudly and rubbing his eyes, but "HMMM HMMM" loudly without the eye rubbing means he wants attention LMAO.. let's us know he's hungry by eating his fist and other subtle signs, calms himself by sucking his thumb and he has weaned himself off of a pacifier and his baby swing (not too happy about the swing weaning, seeing as it was great while it lasted).. sleeps great, eats great.. I'm very very afraid.. getting complacent... he doesn't have teeth yet, but I know, that once they start coming in... it'll be bad... apparently, DH as a baby was very similar, but of course, as per my MIL, he was the best best baby there ever was... Roll.. which she lets me know often, whenever she sees our baby.. I guess all moms think their little one is the best ever... Cool
The swing was a life saver. We used that til it broke. I'd feed him and strap him in the swing and pump. By the time I was done he was asleep and I could put him in the bed.

One thing about babies that age is they are constantly changing. Once I got used to one phase we'd start on another. Everyone told me ds was a good, easy baby. I was thinking how would I handle a hard baby. I thought ds was tough.

laugh out loud I would feed the baby with a bottle at the same time as I would pump... it would take 1/2 an hour to pump and feed the baby at the same time,.. and I had to hold him just right and support him so he wouldn't pull the tubes.. that's probably why I was so exhausted.. I couldn't stand leaving him on his activity mat while I pumped or he'd just cry and cry, then he'd cry because he had swallowed air while crying, so he couldn't get the gas out.. Nono

then put him down on his activity mat, 15-20 minutes to wash all pump parts, bottles etc.. play with baby a little bit, put him down to sleep for about 45 minutes, then somehow back to pumping... it's over now, which I'm glad...

Now I know why my mom decided to just formula feed me from the beginning, she'd already been through 2 kids breastfeeding, and she was done...

I won't get itnot the logistics, but I couldn't breastfeed ds and decidedd to pump for 4 months before I completely had a meltdown and went to Formula. All my friends had no problem so I thought if I could try and try it would happen. Thank goodness for modern technology of a breast pump and formula, oh and modern c-section. ds would have never came out! Sorry TMI ... thanks for sharing ladies, made me feel better. Also that people out there had similar experiences as me.

it's a lot of work to breastfeed for sure. that's awesome you could feed and pump at the same time. i couldn't even pump both boobs at the same time. i was an exhausted clutz!

I don't think the sale bras get any cheaper than 25% off. Last yr it reverted back to normal price after the sas. You can always order now w the 10 off bra n free panty generic code. If it falls in sales price n the 10 off mailer is active u can just re order. The 10 off bra n panty code seems to be reusable? (Does anyone know when it expires?) Plus it's hard to say if there will be free shipping on bras or a good shipping code later
Thanks for the help.

My niece is having boy baby #2 in September, a friend of hers and her mom are throwing a shower for her because she got rid of a lot of stuff because she thought you get a shower for every baby :shak e:. Well they did this at the last baby shower where they told guest what food to bring. Now they are doing it at this one to. I had never heard of anyone doing this before until I attended the first one. I feel that if you put on a baby shower and people are bringing you gifts you should provide the food, even if it is just snacks.
Was this a case of them asking close family to help with food, or did they ask everyone to bring a dish? If they look at it as you helping to host the shower, because you're her aunt, I can see it. Otherwise, that's crazy. I've never been to a shower where guests were asked to bring food.

Quote from Luv2shop247 :
Oh no!!!! I agree... unless someone offers to bring something, it should be from the people hosting the shower... I haven't really seen anyone have two showers unless the kids were super far apart, or a VERY casual co-ed type thing when someone had a DD and didn't have any girl stuff....but their family will use any excuse to throw a party!!! haha!
It's fairly common for people to have a 2nd shower for the opposite sex, especially a small shower with family & close friends. My niece did that & only asked for girl related gifts. She's reusing all the unisex items. My sisters & I bought all of the more expensive stuff that she needed & couldn't reuse, so the more distant family & friends could buy cheaper stuff like clothes, diapers, etc. Having a big shower for a 2nd baby of the same sex is different. My nephew's wife said my sister told her she could have a shower for their 2nd boy, but should only invite close family. (Where I'm from, family would buy something with or w/o a shower.) She was complaining to me, because she thinks she should get to have another big shower. I didn't say anything, but I was thinking, "I'm glad I don't live there anymore to have to be embarrassed by a 2nd big shower." I feel for my sis. laugh out loud

I wonder the same thing about grand kids. My DS was an easy baby. I had him on my schedule of staying up late & getting up late. He was tailor made for us. I watch my great nephews & pray my grand kids are like their daddy was. Stick Out Tongue I don't know if I could survive active kids that get up really early & have an overabundance of energy. My DH has already been warned that he'll be the one chasing them around, if they get up early & go wide open. laugh out loud

GRRRR. I'm trying to off-load one of those VS 30% off coupons, which now has an expiration date on the bay and it got removed since VS is claiming that they are counterfeit. I still see them on the bay though. I emailed them about that BS and Limited Brands responded and basically said that since they're not available to the general public, their stance on it is considering everything that's legit "counterfeit."

I'm sooooo done with VS. I think I'm going to stock up in store and then return it all. What a serious load of Horse
Ugh, suckaaaay. FYI, if they request it, eBay gives them your name and address. This happened to me with another company that's terribly aggressive. I kept wondering where they got the info... and there it was... on my eBay invoice. (The spelling, address... they aren't 100% accurate and I haven't bothered to correct it so it's a unique combo). This is different than what I told you earlier, when I thought they just had my name and googled it Teehee Maybe you can list it over the weekend to avoid their reach? I tried a 1-day listing... so far, so good Evil

I'm for Alabama so most of my family thinks I'm too skinny. Gets on my nerves so bad. That's the bad thing about being petite with a small frame. You look great so don't let them get to you. I know how those comments can be. I hate being told I'm too skinny.

southerners too except for the fat part. they want you fat so they don't feel bad about all that fried crap they shovel in their face but then of course they'll talk about you behind your back if you are so whatever.
I hate this too. Random thoughts on the subject - I bet we would feel different if we had lost a bunch of weight and people said that - it would be like, "Yeah, I worked hard for this! Woohoo!", but I feel like there is no right response. Because they could take that the wrong way too- that it is a judgement of them. I also don't want to be a jerk - "Yeah biotch, I got the good genes" especially because in my case, I really didn't... if I showed them a list of my health issues + skinny versus if I had a heartier frame and the health to fill it out more.... The skinny women I know are health-wise, the most fragile... getting hurt doing the mundane, illness... etc. We are all fighting our own battles. Also, I'm more conscious of how often people say it... so when the "compliments" taper off... I'm thinking, "shoot, am I bulking up?" I guess I really just wish people wouldn't make a scene out of anyone's size, big or small. Embarrassment Instead, tell me how great I look in an outfit and when you're rocking something I'll do the same for you. Girly /rant

I also heard form the lady putting it on their will be no soda, I guess just punch and water. Which is fine but the reason bothers me- only because my niece does not want to drink soda.

I'm not sure if anyone here does the whole beauty subscription thing or not (I actually think empty mentioned ipsy once), but I'm a member of ipsy. I joined in November, and holy cow, do I love it. It's only $10 a month, and I get a little bag of samples and beauty products. I probably have too many beauty products anyway, but I love the surprise, and I have loved absolutely every one of the bags I've gotten so far. I just got my June bag, and aside from this weird glitter palette, I'll use everything, and the bag was worth about $70. You take a quiz, and they pick products for you. I was skeptical, but the last several months, they have been SPOT on (especially for $10 shipped).

Anyway, not sure if anyone is interested in something like this. I didn't think I would like it nearly as much as I did. I signed up in November when they advertised the "They're Real" mascara (before sephora announced it was in their birthday present), and I've been hooked and extremely impressed ever since. You may want to google the past bags to see what they're like.

Anyway, it may be something some of the ladies here would like. I've looked at other sub services, and they all look really crappy compared to ipsy. If you are interested in joining though, please PM me. I get a small bonus (hardly even worth mentioning...it was a bracelet this month) if people subscribe. But I absolutely love the bags and feel like it's Christmas every time I get one Smilie

From what I've read, and everything I've experienced so far... baby shower #2 is a big no no Nono.. however, if the person is having a different sex baby, they can have a 'sprinkle', which would be a small family and few close friends get together for a meal (hosted by the mommy or close friend) and it would be just clothes, diapers, and small things.. DH's mom wanted to avoid an embarrassing 2nd baby shower so she kept reminding me "You only get ONE baby shower".. laugh out loud I already knew that, but I went along with it..

I've seen some ridiculous things on babycenter of people who are going "Oh woe is me, my little boy ABSOLUTELY CANNOT use the same carseat because it's a boy carseat and I'm having a girl"... the best response I saw to that was, "So, what? Does your carseat have a baby pee pee attachment?! Didn't think so."... those mommies on there show no mercy for people who post up entitled posts about how their families don't support them with their 2nd baby shower.. I go in there for the drama Popcorn.. fun to read..

I guess it depends on the area. Where I'm from, there is always a shower, w/ a shorter guest list than the first, for someone having a baby of the opposite sex. For the same sex, it's usually just a family get together where everyone brings a gift. There are always a few things the first child is still using, plus diapers, wipes, etc., that family can buy to help out.
