ohhhh that makes sense.

I'm scared of using liquid formula.. DH's mom has mentioned several times about how when he was little, he would projectile vomit every time she gave him liquid formula.. Don't know if it'll happen to DS, so I'm using powdered enfamil infant right now, I have similac advance for later, and a bunch of gerber goodstart

Every single time I've gone to the doctors office for the baby's well visits, (2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months and now this 6 month visit) I've asked for formula samples. They give me 2-3 8oz powder cans .. each can lasts 2 days approximately after I reconstitute it. I'd say that amounts to almost a month of free formula.. Smilie They've given me free playtex bottles and drop in samples for them, but I haven't used them, and now that the nipple speed has changed, I'll probably donate them..
well, i'm sure liquid formula from when your DH was a baby and liquid formula now are very different...

but aside from that, my friend said her baby hated formula and would only take 1 type of liquid formula. i forgot what it was kuz i don't have a baby so i don't pay attention to that sort of thing Teehee but this friend is a pediatrician so i'm sure she knows all the different types/brands and tried them all. she got the rec from her other doctor friend who also has an infant. Dontknow i guess all babies are picky about different things!

CG told me to sign up for emails, coupons, mail, etc from the formula brands.. I hadn't done so originally, but I'm very glad I did... So Similac sent me a big formula sample box, Enfamil sent me a huge stash of newborn nursette bottles and then when DS turned 3 months old, Enfamil sent infant liquid bottles (came as a surprise Smilie), and both companies have been sending formula checks $5 each, which combine with the coupons $2 in the circular for similac and $5 coupons for enfamil on their website linked to my email address.. so formula from enfamil comes out to under $10 for a canister, and practically free, if I buy the handy to-go packets which are less expensive that I use for my purse when I'm out.

I didn't sign up for gerber coupons, but I somehow received a few in the mail Dontknow

Also, Similac was the shadiest company as far as how they do their marketing research. I signed up for Similac coupons and spelled my name wrong purposely, a variation of my name just so I'd know what I signed up for. Lo' and behold, a few weeks later, I get a thing regarding a US National Study on formula and breastfeeding, was called "National Institute of Infant Nutrition".. spelled to that mispelling of my name.. asking me to help with National Research on formula..

Here's the link discussing the shady research
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-50512...-research/
my dr gave a diaper bag (think from enfamil) and it had a bunch of cards and i filled those out. i got tons of coupons. gerber would send me $11 off coupons. i had a lot of that but the baby wouldn't eat it.

what type of beans.. butter beans? what is that?

i think bean "juice" or water or whatever is really good for you... that's probably why. beans are high in nutrients supposedly so it makes sense to me... it sounds like something my mom would tell me to do also. Teehee

Its just a type of bean they eat. I think they're nasty. It probably is good for you but he was way too little for anything except breast milk at the time.

i tried the soft modern pant the other day and i can't figure them out. they fit on me like on this model:
http://www.express.com/clothing/s.../cat630011

where i have to unzip it about that much at the bottom bc otherwise it would scrunch up and look weird. (the model wearing the orange version must be super duper tall) is this a new trend? it looks more feminine to me, but i can't figure out how i'm supposed to wear it since it's that long... do i have to wear heels with it? Nono2 the 2 fit me well in the waist though, and you can tell it's high quality material and made well. i like the white belt-looking stripe on the waistband too. i kinda think they may be too "modern" for me...

it sounds like something that wouldn't hurt, just sounds a little weird.. as long as it was less than 4oz per day, it might be alright.. but breastmilk or formula at a young age is preferable.. I know the dr. warned me on not giving water to the baby because they can get an electrolyte imbalance which can cause water intoxication... she only now has said to give 1 1/2 oz of water 3x a day when I give the baby his mashed food. I haven't given him any water, I just give the baby his veggies and he's been okay..

My mom saw a dad feeding a baby at Costco. She asked, "How old is that baby?". The father answered proudly, "4 months old".. My mom starting freaking out, she went, "You can't feed a baby hot dog pieces at that age". The dad said "It's fine. We started her on food." and then proceeded to ignore my mom... French fries are a heck of alot safer than hot dog pieces.. DH occasionally chokes on a piece of hot dog and he's fully grown..
