Good luck getting any physician to accept crap insurance. All my local docs are either retiring, going concierge or taking cash only as a result of the "hottest deal, ever" aka Obamacare. Thanks to the law, I lost my primary care physician.

Back on topic, be sure your physician accepts whatever insurance you decide to sign up for.

Heathcare.gov [healthcare.gov] is live. People in 36 states will be using it to buy health insurance. It's probably the hottest deal, ever, in the lives of several million people that currently are not insured.

Whatever your politics, it is the law, it is live, so please limit the discussion to the plans and options available. Like it or not, it's here, and if your middle class or even less well off, and don't have good insurance from your employer, it's a significant discount.

And it took about 30 seconds poking around to get an error Smilie
Not if you're a U.S. Senator or House representative. You get a nice exemption. This deal is not applicable to everyone.

You can see if you use Healthcare.gov or a state exchange here. [healthcare.gov]

Well, true, out of 340 million people, you found the 200 or so that are exempt.

Keeping in mind that job security for most people is a thing of the past, there's a pretty good chance someone that's not a senator might find themselves without employer insurance.

CNN Fact Check: Congress, staff are exempt from Obamacare [cnn.com]

"VERDICT: False. Congress is no more exempt than any other employer who drops coverage and then helps employees purchase insurance on the exchanges."

Hope I can get rid of my crappy Blue Cross health insurance policy.

They are charging me crazy amount because I had acne as a teenager. They call it "pre-existing conditions".

So you are saying that rather than just not accept Obamacare patients, and continue to accept employer based coverage, your local doctors have either retired or gone cash only?

That just seems odd, because Obamacare doesn't change how well employer based insurance does, or doesn't, pay the doctors. Or Medicare does, or doesn't, for that matter.

For those of us that cannot afford insurance on the individual market even crappy coverage beats no coverage.

Thankfully my doctor has assured me that as long as whatever insurance I chose includes him in its plan, he'll be happy to take it. The question neither he nor I yet know is whether it will.

Well, as of January 2014 pre-existing conditions are banned. The new mandated policies also have better minimum coverage than a lot of the individual plans currently available.

And of course depending on your income, the subsidy could amount to several thousand a year if you're lower middle class, to a small increase if your an upper middle class young person.

In self defense, I did search. For both healthcare.gov and healthcare. Dunno why it didn't come up. Shrug.

I'm sorry but they are right. If you haven't had any as a teen you won't get any as an adult ... Unless you pay.
