Cliff Notes: ZM is a pissed off fatty.

WTF Macy's why would you not carry the plus size dresses in your stores? Not one store in the greater Seattle area had any of the 12 dress styles I checked on in stock, regardless of color! Ranting

So out of frustration and a lack of trust in Macy's stock system, I ordered the same dress in three different sizes, hoping one of them will be the right fit.

Come to Mississippi. I went shopping for a dress tonight and almost everything at Belk and Dillards is size 12 and up. I only found two size 6 skirts, no dresses at all. The "Real Women" and plus size areas of the stores here take up more floor space than any other department.

I asked an associate in Dillard's where the smaller sizes were and she said try "Juniors". Anyone with half a brain knows that the only people that can wear girl's junior clothing are teenage boys and q-tips with eyeballs.

Long story short, if you wear a 4,6 or 8, and you can't afford to fly to New York and shop, you better be prepared to go all Little House on the Prairie and make your own clothes. Annoyed
laugh out loud yeah we like to eat in the south, and we start at an early age Grin We apparently haven't read the articles about obesity, or we can't grasp the concept of it, one or the other.

The smallest of the fat girl sizes arrived today and it fit. But there's a problem, the dress has snags on it and the lace sleeves were stretched way out of shape, especially in the upper arm area. I think someone who was too big for the dress tried it on and stretched the lace sleeves out. So I just re-ordered the same size and paid to put a rush on it as time is running out. Annoyed

lol plus size? I don't think you should be angry at Macy's for not carrying such a niche size of clothing.

Why not? I get annoyed that I can never find anything in a size 0 petite when I shop in department stores. It's not any different.

I normally only see 0's at the nicer dept stores like nordies and bloomies. It's really annoying. I don't even look in Macy's unless there is a cosmetic gwp.

Iagree with MLV's Iagree

And clothing sizing is all farked up. Sometimes I need a 6 sometimes I need a 10 or 12 (typically fancier clothes run smaller). So according to that theory anyone bigger than me is plus sized. It's a crock.

Sometimes I'm 12. Maybe 10 if I'm lucky. And then I don't know how, but some clothes fit best at size 8 Huh I don't get it, but hey, I'm not complaining that I can fit into an 8. laugh out loud Makes it very difficult for shopping though!

I can't shop online for clothes, unless I already know for certain what size I am in that brand and style. And shopping in a store takes forever because I have to try on every freaking thing. Can't just go "Oh that's nice! And it's my size! Let's go!" I have to grab a few in different sizes, and usually I get frustrated and tired, give up and go home with nothing.
Maybe just socks.

What is a 0X? There were a lot of those on the Macy's clearance racks the other day, along with 0P, which is petite right?

hug Yeah, I'm wearing a 12 in pants now, even though I still have a bit of a tummy. But due to most clothing manufacturers not putting much room for the girls on tops and dresses, I had to go up to a 14W to find a dress that would fit properly up top without everything spilling out, it's for a wedding, so the bottom half of the dress isn't quite as clingy as it was designed to be.
