I thought I would re-post this because more people are switching over to TMO. And after reading the last post and talking to TMO tech support they ran out of them last year.

I have the older one that only works on T-Mobile branded phones. The newer model lets you use devices that you may have brought over from other carriers to TMO.

This doesn't boost data speeds, but boost the cell signal 3G/4G (not LTE, since LTE isn't used for voice calls) for voice calls. If you have at least one bar of 3G signal you should be able to qualify for this device. Not sure if it works on prepaid plans. My works and I have full bars in my house.

All the info is on TMO's page here:
https://support.t-mobile.com/comm...al-booster

Basically call in and tell them you want a signal booster because you only have one bar in your house.
They may charge shipping, but I can usually get my waived.

Product Page
http://cel-fi.com/product/cel-fi-...r-t-mobile

"How much does a Signal Booster cost?
T-Mobile makes Signal Boosters available at no extra cost to customers who meet certain qualifications."

"Can I still obtain a Signal Booster if I don't meet the qualifications?
You may also purchase one directly from Cel-Fi."

Cel-Fi list the price to be $575.00

Amazon $575.00 + $7.49 shipping
http://www.amazon.com/New-multi-l...B00DDZZFBI

They may substitute for the older model which I have and works just as good.

Has anyone had luck getting a booster because they have poor reception in their basement or do you get a "yeah well, it's a basement, so..." response. I get a weak to nonexistent signal near the stairs and calls usually drop or break up badly at the other end of my basement...but I have good coverage upstairs on the ground level. Sucks to not be able to make or maintain a call downstairs.
I was getting 1 bar to no bar around the house and couple bars near the windows on one side of the house. After seeing this on slickdeals, I called T-Mobile and they sent me this unit free of charge. I placed the receiver unit by the window where I get 1-2 bars and the other repeater unit in the area where I usually get zero to 1 bar. This really works and I now have 5 solid bars all over the house.
If you are having issues and have couple bars in one corner of the house, i'd recommend getting this from T-mobile. Its worth it.

Score! Thanks OP. My in-laws are on my account ($5 AAL) and they live in the middle of no-where. Outside you might get 1 bar of 4G service, and inside it's usually no service. I called in from work telling them my workplace has poor reception, tech said I needed to turn the device off and reseat the SIM, to which I said I had already done that today with the same results.

Overnight free shipping. No cost. I really do love Tmo!

Received. Hard to match the locations of windows unit and coverage unit to get best coverage.

1. Better to put them on the same floor and two ends of the house?

2. I checked on t-mobile website, S/N were not registered, do I need to do so?

The units will tell you the best location based on the number on the repeater unit (inside). The closer to 10 you get - the better the positioning. In a 3 floor house my antenna unit is next to a window on the 3rd floor and repeater unit is in the basement at the other end.

I am sure the unit is already on your account, but the T-Mobile rep who processed my order informed me that I should be ready to give the proper 911 address just in case. The unit should respond with your billing 911 address if it ever has to report the location.

I have to say, that I have tried WiFi calling using my LG G2 before, and it was freaking awful x.x and painful!

If I remember correctly, with sprint you could lock in what #'s used your 'tower' lol
Do you think that it was the phone or your wifi that made the experience terrible? I've had conflicting opinions, but there's no way for me to actually try this without signing up for T-Mo service.

This device takes the best signal you have in one area of the house and amplifies it to the entire house. If they have 0 bars inside and barely one bar outside I don't think it's going to work too well. It can't create a signal when there isn't one there.

When you say full bars is that the signal from the booster giving full bars because it's in such close proximity to you or do you have full bars of TMobile signal in one area of the house that the booster is passing along to the whole house? I don't have full bars in any area of the house so I'm not expecting so see full bars when I get mine tomorrow.

Plugged this booster in and when powered on it kills my 5Ghz home wifi signal. Turn it off and the signal is back. Crazy. Guess I will try moving it into another room to see if that helps.

The booster should find an empty 5 GHz band automatically on startup. I would try changing your 5 GHz channel on the router first. Moving won't do much if they keep yelling at each other on the same frequency.

Good idea. I didn't realize the booster uses the 5Ghz band.
