He went to his evaluation today and the only thing that got evaluated was my damn wallet. (Paying the copay for absolutely nothing).

You would think when they schedule the appointments they could tell you that they're going to do an allergy test and your kid shouldn't take his prescribed allergy medicine. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

They did the same thing to the lady next to me. Both of us went in only to have to reschedule for next week.

I'm so damn annoyed that I have to wait another week to get my poor child some relief.

Anyone know how long it takes to get results back on an allergy test?

Another rant... I checked my son into school and was told anything after 10 was an absence (not a half day; a whole day missed). I told her it was pointless to even bring him in then. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I'll update again next Friday after his evaluation.

I miss posting in this thread as much but I'm paranoid that it'll bump the posts up and then Arj will be like "Harhar I told you you couldn't keep it un-chatted." and then I'll be Ranting and he'll be Whee

meToday...I don't know how long it takes for allergy tests to come back...I really don't think it's long though. My brother had some done when he was younger and he got them back really really quick.

And geeze...1/2 day should be like...11:30 or something Annoyed

That's the thing... they don't have 1/2 days. If you come in before 10, you're tardy. If you come in after 10, it's like you're not there at all. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I asked her wtf the point in bringing him was and she said he still gets his lessons he just doesn't get credit for being there. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I think they should have 1/2 days. Ranting

I would be livid if they didn't tell me to stop allergy meds for a test! How are you supposed to know that? (I've had a test and they told me ahead of time) Be sure to give him tylenol ahead of time (check first) - they will scratch up his back pretty good during the test.

I remember the 10:00 rule from when I was in school. That was the magic time for early dismissal so the school would get paid for the day.

I'm more annoyed at the people who come in here and chat the place up on purpose. Annoyed

BOTH boys woke up last night and visited us. I made DH march the older one upstairs since it's his fault he came down in the first place. There has to be a near-zero tolerance policy for sleepovers in our bed, or else it becomes a free-for-all! I'll lift the rules in case of illness, but that's it.

The little one was up at 4 wanting to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. Huh How 'bout you march your tiny hiney back to bed until the sun comes up instead? wave

I'm happy about our new insurance. Dh got a new job a while ago...no co-pays, no deductibles, 100% covered on everything. It's wonderful.

But back to ranting. I forgot my bag that I bring to work with my water, aleve, energy drink powder...all my necessities. Down I guess that's more of a whine...but still on topic.

EEK! I told him it was just a quick prick on his hand. He's going to be so upset with me, but I can't change it now or he'll start dreading it (and a week to a 5 year old is like a year to us), but I don't want him to be misled.
I should've kept my damn mouth shut. Mad

Your little one has the wierdest sleep schedule. I'm surprised it's not more consistent. hug

i'm really perturbed at the fact that the neighbor's kid (the one where santa came and dropped TWO gifts off) gets money, a note AND a gift from the toothfairy. Mad

other kids in the neighborhood want to know why the toothfairy don't drop off no stinkin' gift...just money and a farking note. Ranting

not only that but the easter bunny came with baskets full of $50 video games to them.

MadMadMad

it really isn't fair. there should be a manual on these things so everyone's on the same page.

What do you mean about Santa? Santa drops of tons of stuff here...More than "mom and dad" give! Not much from the Easter bunny though...one small toy and lots of candy. Toothfairy- a buck.

It may be different for kids. For me, they did a scratch test on the back and when that didn't give them the results they wanted I had to go back and they did little injections on my arms. Thought I would pass out from the needle sticks the second time. The first one was just uncomfortable.

http://adam.about.com/encyclopedi...h-test.htm

And my little one was FINE until we moved him to a big boy bed. Annoyed I blame my husband for this development. I'm hoping he settles down soon. This is going to kill me!

I feel bad for the kids who get all that crap. They are going to be in for a rude awakening when the real world doesn't shower them with presents. My kids will be lucky to get a dollar from the tooth fairy!

i've always known santa to drop off one gift because he has so many children to give to, one's fair and up until last christmas was the first time i heard that santa gives more than one gift per child.

last christmas santa dropped off two gifts for the neighbor's kids and bragged to other kids in the neighborhood that they got two. so these other kids that got only one from santa felt crappy and thought santa didn't like them or something. it was hard to explain why one set of children get more than another, that's all.

somehow i don't think this particular family will ever show their kids the real world. the mom has already told me that they have so much money invested in their kids future...college money, first car, their wedding and money down for their first homes. it's hard to tell if this is good or bad. one can say "wow, what awesome parents" while others can say "they don't ever plan to cut the cord". but.....we shall see.

i honestly don't care what other families do. that's their business but when it spills over and negatively affect other children, then i care.

The ones that chat it up on purpose annoy me too. As evidenced by this next smiley Annoyed

Our son has a lock outside his door. We started locking it at night after he had been in bed for a little bit. We can see his door upstairs (we have an open living room where it goes up to the loft/kids rooms so we can see it all from here)...because he would keep coming out at night while we were down here. So now we say "Ok, we'll keep your door unlocked when you go to bed if you can stay in your room like a man." (Anything that will make him a "man" he's all for, lol). MOST of the time he will stay in his room but he still comes out.

That sucks he was up at 4 a.m. Wtf? I wish we could have our kids energy. They wake up early all Whee

hug That sucks. I know parents like that too. My daughter will come home "Kristy got TWENTY DOLLARS from the tooth fairy!!" and I know she's wondering why she doesn't get that much. But dang...she still has over 10 teeth left to lose, we can't afford it, lol.

You know what bugs me is different commercials...like Walmart..when they'll show the mom's going "Walmart has such cheap prices..now I can fill their Easter Baskets for less!" and my daughter starts going "Why is that mom saying SHE fills the Easter basket? I thought the Easter bunny did?" Those damn commercials don't care that they give away the secret of "Santa" and the "Easter Bunny" all so they can make money Annoyed

I was sort of like that. My great grandfather was one of the inventors of the tri-pod (or something like that) and they started up Da-Lite screening company. Our family always had a ton of money and we had it all as kids. My college was paid for by a trust fund and my kids college will also be paid for by a trust fund. Every 5 years I get money from the trust and once my kids turn 21, they will too.

The thing is...because of all that money, I never had to work, never worried about money when I was younger. When I got older and into the "real world"...it was a rude awakening. Suddenly I didn't have money at my fingertips to by whatever I needed at the grocery store. I had payments for the house, etc and had squandered the money I first got from the trust because I was ignorant and didn't realize and I hate myself for those mistakes now. This year I get the money again and I'm living for August so I won't have to worry monthly about overdrafts, if we have enough money for rent, etc. This time, I'm wiser and know better and won't think this money is great for vacations, cars, etc..but that we need it to live on.

If I could go back, I'd get a job when I was a teenager and work even if I didn't need the money. I'd realize that I was lucky as a kid that my parents had their house paid for and money in the bank but not all families are like that (mine isn't now..my husband/myself/kids I mean)..and that I shouldn't just take for granted that there will always be money somewhere. I blame myself for taking it for granted and I'm teaching my kids not to think the same way I did.

I saw a little girl tonight in CVS sneeze. And then really runny snot ran down to her lip. She wiped it with her forefinger and of course, you know what's comin'....she stuck the finger in her mouth and licked it up while I watched in horror. vomit
Rofl2 I just got a great visual of you watching that event unfold.

You're standing there uncomfortably with loads of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc all bundled in your arms and you almost drop all of it because you see this girl. Roll

Ranting I'm at work.
