Are there any runners in the Lounge? OT is fine as long as it has something to do with you running.

So I started Couch to 5K this year, and today I begin week 4, day 1. I'm finding this to be easier overall than I expected it to be.
Who here runs religiously, and what advise do you have to give to someone just starting out, such as myself?
Motivation is not a problem. I find myself looking forward to each run so far.

Shortened it to 5 and barely made it through that.
And I had to do it WAY more than three times before I started just tolerating a treadmill. Hundreds of runs later I'm actually sort of looking forward to it. It gets easier...

I did my worse time in a 5k yet, but still came in under 40, though that's damn near walking time. Plus, I learned that the shoes I'm currently running in might be okay for 2 mile or less runs, but were plain awful for the 5K. I need new shoes ASAP!

And I agree - I hate running on treadmills as well.

I ran with him on miles 43, 44, and 49, and crossed the line with him to help celebrate his 50 mile accomplishment. Amusingly, at one point while I was pacing him he told me to slow down and that I was running too fast for him!
He ended up running a total of 56 miles over 12 hours. I think that is a clinical definition for absolute insanity.
Prior to today, the state record was 71 miles over 12 hours. There was a girl there today that ended up somewhere between 74-76. That chick was a machine!
