First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.
Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing
The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called "ExtraCare Bucks" (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.
Often, CVS advertises items as "Free after ECB" – For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money… like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.
The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions… then earning more to keep doing the same. It's a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

Good gosh, I remember now why I don't drink
My poor neighbor - she called while we were in Wyoming on the way back. Her husband up and left her while we were gone. She said he'd never even hinted at not being happy, but told her he hasn't been attracted to her in seven years. They have a little boy who just turned one. Her ass of a husband is already moved in with another woman. When I got home from church this morning, there was a guy banging at her door and she wasn't answering - he left a thick manila envelope at the door so I wonder if she's already been served with divorce papers.
So I find myself here just sick to my stomach for her. Having a hard time trying to figure out how to be there for her but not get too wrapped up in it myself. Haven't talked to her since I got home yet. Knocked a couple of times but she didn't answer so I just stuck a note under the door saying if she didn't want to talk, that's fine, but I'm home if she needs me. So she called and I hit the button and accidentally hung up and she doesn't answer when I call back.
