Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Yes. However, there are few people reported that their reps refused to sign up with GV#, they want wireless # from AT&T, Verizon or Tmobile. Most of reps put it through, though.
Thanks, I had already told the rep that it was a Google (Fi) number, and they didn't have issue with it. I figured they can't tell if it's actually Google Fi or Voice.

Thanks so much for your continued help on this forum! So, deleting my device from Ting account cannot do any harm, right?

Also, would you mind trying the eligibility checker now if you could? It is passing EVERYTHING that I tried, so I'm worried that it's just passing everything blindly (no matter it's really eligible or not). Are you able to try something that you know won't work, and have the checker tells you that it's NOT eligible? Thanks again...
Delete the device remove it from Ting network for sure, no harm

Try a Nexus 5x that I have on Tello, doesnt work.No it is not passing anything

I earlier installed this one as i thought it is according to orignially if phone is ATT... and i thought all G935U firmwares are unlocked..
GALAXY S7 edge SM-G935U 08.06.2017 7.0 USA (AT&T) (ATT)G935UUEU4BQE2

So now i need to install the one below... right?
GALAXY S7 edge SM-G935U 08.06.2017 7.0 USA (Sprint) (SPR)G935UUEU4BQE2

also what is difference between XAA and SPR?
You can install either XAA or SPR, both will work on Sprint. XAA has multi-CSC (i.e., it has all the US carriers CSC info) with no carrier bloatwares. SPR has Sprint CSC only and may have carrier bloatwares if you install the stock SPR (i.e., SPR/SPR/SPR). Since the core firmware is the same for all US S7 variants due to identical hardware, you can mix and match the firmware files (SPR/SPR/SPR, XAA/XAA/SPR, XAA/SPR/SPR, etc.).

Yeah it does sound like they screwed up. That's the special ISIM specific to ONLY open market Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, Motorola Z2 Play and Motorola E4. I have no idea why they would send it to you for a G Play or any other phone, unless the "Play" part confused them. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
Works with S7 Edge G935U...

Later edit...Actually this sim card is not fully compatible with S7 edge. Phone works, internet but NOT wifi calling. If you need wifi calling go to Sprint store and get SIMOLW416C. After replacing sim card wifi calling works.

I bought sim online and put in $10 refill. Total cost is around $12.
Sprint really doesn't give you any grief about prepaid vs postpaid (or doesn't ask) even though the promo is targeted at postpaid customers? It would be easy to tell a postpaid vs prepaid account number on T-Mobile because the account number is the phone number. I can't use AT&T though, because I've now sworn them off.

On a side note, (rant) I ask only because AT&T's "fraud department" are total jerks. I was an AT&T customer for ~10 years but when trying to add a phone there (to later port out for this promo) they sat on the request for 2 business days with no status updates. I tried both chat and calling and they claimed everything is fine. Then I get a call from some cranky lady in the fraud department who apparently just assumes I'm a scammer, even though she called me on my home phone that I've had >10 years and starts asking me credit report questions. The second question was how much my mortgage payment is. I ask, is that just the P&I or the full amount including ecorow, etc. She won't tell me, so I guessed that they just want how much the P&I is. Apparently I guessed wrong and that's it, no opportunity for additional questions, order immediately cancelled after waiting 2-3 days for nothing, because they "can't verify my ID." I'm free to go to an AT&T store with two forms of ID to prove who I am and they MIGHT be gracious enough to let me give them my money. Yeah, no. I will not miss AT&T one bit. It seems that clueless and idiotic reps are everywhere. I'd much rather pay less for crappy service than pay more for just as crappy service.

I deactivated my Moto G4 with Ting and now I read if the number to be ported in was ever with a Sprint MNVO it won't work either? Ugh. The weird thing is that even when I put my G4 with a Global SIM number with FP...it still comes up ineligible. I put a message out to LiterallyUnlimited. Hopefully that will finally clear things!

Thank you, I will go ahead and delete the device from Ting account. Is the next step correct?

Next Step: Wait for a few hours (after deleting the device from Ting account), then call Sprint (866-782-8777) for the promotion.

Question 1: Is the wait necessary? It's now after 6 PM Eastern Time already. How late can I call sprint for the promotion? Are they open 24 hours?

Question 2: I have some new, never used sim cards that I got from apple store in 2015. The sim card model is SIMGLW436C. My device is iphone 6s. Is this the correct sim card, and can I use it for the promotion?

Also, you can call 1-866-556-7310 to ask them to send you a FREE Asus router (similar to the T-mobile one). In my case, I have a very spotty network in my house and they are going to send it to me to optimize the WI-FI call. According to them, once you used it for 12 months, it is all yours.
I called and they said there's an 8-10 week delay, but I told them to order it anyway after an override because I'm a new customer.

It seems that what's going on is the direct line rep is creating a blank account when the sims are ordered over the phone. Creating an account makes you a current customer who is ineligible for the promo even though you don't have your sim yet. People who get the sim on their own and do the "credit check, account creation, port-in" on the phone are successful because the account with Free Unlimited plan is done on 1 call. Pain in the Arse to have to deal with customer service.
You finally hit the nail on the head! That's why I said you have to specifically sign up for the free plan during the first call, not during the second or third call, if you call to sign up instead of signing up online. Do not hang up until you have successfully signed up for the free plan with credit check, porting info, and all. After your account is created, you should be able to activate your device and account online with the email address, phone number, etc. The number porting will be completed within minutes or up to 10 business days, depending on whether you port in a wireless or wireline (landline) number.

I ended up calling 866-782-8777 the number listed on paper part of SIM activation Kit/package. They could not locate my info when I ordered one year of free service SIM kit. It took about one hour over the phone to go through credit check (yes, one more time), account setup and ported in etc. The CSP was very helpful but trying to sell other paid service/product too....
Yes, I used 866-782-8777. (Which was *not* listed on my packing slip, another number was, but I'd read enough on here not to want to use other numbers.)

I'm having trouble activating the line. On the page that says "Transfer your number(s)", I put in all the information asked for and clicked "Finish" the page just hangs there, the bars just keep vibrating but it does not go anywhere. I have tried firefox, chrome on linux and firefox, edge on win 10 all the same. What is going on? BTW I'm porting out an H2O number.
This happened to me. I ended up trying to start over and when I'd go to the page to start activation it'd tell me my profile was already created. It said to call in. I didn't want any part of the calling in process so I ended up turning the phone on and it was working. I ended up creating my Sprint.com account and sure enough there was my phone and it was working, it even activated my second phone which was a Tmobile pay as you go phone. Odd thing was each phone has a different "account number" which is really just it's phone number. Both work perfectly.

BTW, the eligibility check did not pass when I tried the virgin mobile iphone 5s previously. I didn't do anything with that device at all, and all of sudden, today the checker said it's eligible. I'm not sure what happened.

I didn't have the sim card initially. I'm one of those who got the "credit error" message and called in for the credit check and ordered on the phone. Wish I'd known I could have gotten the SIM card at a Sprint store. Then I would have had the sim in hand before calling for the credit check. Once you order the sim on the phone, you can't activate online.

NOTE: To anyone getting an error message that your credit can't be run online, get the sim card BEFORE... BEFORE, BEFORE calling the 8777 number for a credit check. Save yourself some extra hassle of having to work for FREE stuff.

Please pardon a dumb question from an old guy who remembers (sometimes fondly) the days before cable tv, cell phones, fax machines, computers, calculators, global warming, yogurt, fast food, power steering, etc, Does this only work with CDMA- type cell phones (ie, Verizon) ? Or does it also work with GSM-type cell phones (ie, ATT) ? I tried to find the answer in the 228 pages of comments, but it all sounded like a foreign language. Can someone kindly answer that one question for me? Thanks !
