I am interested in this plan but my wife and I have the ATT versions of the IPhone 7. I read the wiki and I have come to the conclusion that there is no way to get this phone to work on this plan. If anyone knows a way, it would be much appreciated.
Not just on this plan.
It could never work since Apple put a cheap Intel chip in it that is hardware-incapable of CDMA.

When i tried FP, it was a PITA. After a week, I gave up. You can buy a number for port from numberbarn for $5. Much less aggravation.
Thanks for numberbarn suggestion.
Looking at FP support forum, they usually get back in a day, so I'll wait for another day.
If that doesn't work out, I'll go with either GV or numberbarn

Off topic again, but i ordered E5 Play from boost website and they cancelled my order. The email stated to get it from the store. I placed another order just to see if that goes through and that one got cancelled too.

I posted this on E5 Play thread too but haven't got a response yet. Just checking in to see how i can go about placing that order? Could proximity of boost store location to my home the reason for cancellation? Reaching out to see if i can get suggestions/tips?

Thank you!

Thanks for all the helpful discussions. I just did it today: switching from Virgin Mobile to T Mobile then back to Sprint. I didn't need to use someone else's SSN. It took a while to get to speak to someone at T Mobile for porting in; but the sprint part was pretty quick. I did get pushed for the protection plan and accepted it; then got online and cancelled it the same day.
Hi, there are some many "conversations" on this thread that it is hard to find relevant posts for porting from Virgin Mobile to this plan (via T-mobile). How did you do it please?

FYI: I was able to jump from virgin to sprint by parking my number at numberbarn.com for $7. Mostly seamless. You cannot jump directly from virgin.
can you tell us more details of what you did please?

I was just looking at my most recent charges from Sprint and see there's a $7.50 "administrative charge" under surcharges that I don't remember seeing before. Is that something new for everyone? Did I just not notice it before? Or is it a one time thing that there's some reason for?? (have 3 lines on the account. Opened with 1 at the end of May and added a line in June and again in July.) Last bill was around $4. Next one looks to be around $13.

Update: Did find reference that states Sprint raises their Administrative charge to $2.50 this year, which would make sense for 3 lines to equal $7.50 then. Though it's still odd I didn't see it on the last bill.

For A) existing customers whose 1 year BYOD plan is expiring and want to renew another year of free BYOD OR B) customers on Sprint MVNO's i.e. Tello/Ting/Virgin/Boost, the fastest easiest is to port out to T-mobile using $5 digital T-Mobile SIM card from eBay and port back in to Sprint for another year of free 1YR BYOD.

If you are existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days, you will need a new SSN (friend/ family). If you are porting from a Sprint MVNO you don't need a new SSN as long as you weren't a Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

1) First, have your Sprint/ Sprint MVNO account number and PIN ready. Ensure that you have a Sprint eligible phone and compatible Sprint SIM card (Sprint SIM can be reused)

2) Order the $5 digital T-Mobile SIM Card from eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/232903327738. You will purchase 1 unique digital T-mobile SIM for each line you want to port as each digital SIM can be used only/ consumed only once.

3) You don't have to topup/ reload the Tmobile digital SIM. Once receive the digital SIM card number, call Tmobile customer care 1-877-778-2107 to port your sprint number to Tmobile. Just give them your Sprint/ Sprint MVNO acct number, PIN , phone number and T mobile SIM card number. If rep asks for an activation code tell them it is not necessary- only the SIM card number is needed.

4) Your number will be ported to T mobile in less than 5 minutes. Your Tmobile Account number will be your phone number prefixed by 1 Ex: 1 214-xxx-xxxx and the pin number will be the one that you setup initially during the porting or activation process. Note that for each line in Tmobile prepaid, it will be a separate account number i.e. the phone number of each line prefixed by 1 for that line. Again PIN number would be what you have set during number porting/activation for each line.

5) Wait for ~ 20 minutes to verify the completion of the T-mobile port and the cancellation of your Sprint account. Port is complete when your existing Sprint/ Sprint MVNO phone stops working (no calls/ no text/ no internet)

6) Now call back sprint telesales number 1866-782-8777 to sign up for the 1 year BYOD free plan and port back your number from Tmobile with a new SSN if you were an existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

7) After about 45 mins on the phone call, you are good to go for another one year. Verbally confirm that the representative waives the $30 activation fee per line as part of the promotion. In addition, ensure the rep DOES NOT add insurance on your phones to the billing- Sprint reps have been known to be unscrupulous and add insurance without your knowledge. Ask the rep to notate your account that you signed up for the BYOD 1 year $0 promotion for both lines in case the rep misapplied the promotion. In addition, ask the rep for your new Sprint account number and notate this down for future reference.
how long does it take for step 2 (get digital SIM from ebay vendor)?

It would be no different from porting a number out of anything else.
You just cannot port it directly into Sprint because Virgin is Sprint.

I found this:

"Virgin Mobile - You need to contact Virgin Mobile customer service to get your account number - it will be a 9-Digit number - and the passcode is usually the customer's birthday in 6-digit format (2-digit month/2-digit day/2-digit year...example: 011065 for January 10th 1965) UNLESS you changed it to something else."

Also check with Virgin customer service that the phone is eligible to move to Sprint postpaid.

I think after cancelling or porting out of VM, you have to call VM to set up your phone for postpaid use.

Comintel, is that correct?

laugh out loud And there you are!

It's 2.50 per line per sprint:

Free service for 1 year for new customers who switch to Sprint and sign up on sprint.com/1yearfree. Save until 9/30/19.
You'll save $800 (compared to Verizon's one-line Go Unlimited rate plan) in the first year
Switch your whole family and save even more!
You'll save $840 (compared to AT&T Unlimited & More one-line rate plan) in the first year
A standard $2.50 admin fee, $0.40 regulatory fee and other taxes and fees apply
Your $30 activation fee is waived as part of this promotion. The fee will appear on your first bill and a credit will appear within 2 bills.

I think they will do it by default anyway in most cases if it is eligible, but I would suggest checking with them in case any required period is not satisfied or some unlock is required. People probably need to check with them anyway to confirm the detailed port out details for their account rather than guess at them.

Since Virgin is a division of Sprint, they can handle all lock issues reliably first time rather than is the case with trying to get MVNO's to do anything about MVNO locks etc.

Usually not long, but t mo phone hold times are pretty long especially on the weekend. For 5 bucks a numberbarn number for porting would be quicker. Or GV for $3
