Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Sprint will ALWAYS re-lock all phones no matter if they were previously unlocked or were purchased elsewhere unlocked, then must wait 45 days to request unlock.

If you call and complain forcefully about this unfair behavior they may unlock it within 48 hours. It's been done.
Make sure you request the unlock for BOTH domestic and international, and make sure you get a ticket/reference/case #.
Also, make sure the phone is on and on WiFi when the unlock code is sent OTA or it may not get unlocked.

A Sprint # to get the unlock request may still be: 888-226-7212. It's the Sprint Int'l unlock #.
Or the Sprint CS # may work: 800-SPRINT1.

The correct code is: *#*#72786#*#* for many newer Android phones like the Essential.

Is this only for Sprint Branded phones? If you bring an iPhone purchased unlocked from Apple, will that be locked when activating on Sprint?

I guess the idea is, have it handy if you have one. Many people buy them locally.

If you don't have one and call the number ending in 8777, that's fine and they will send you one.

So I think it is just covering both cases.
Gotcha, thanks!

My Sprint branded S8 was not re-locked at all when I added it back a second time on my second go-around of the Free plan. It stayed unlocked.

I'm having a Sprint S7 edge and the number is ported to Metro. I suspect the phone is not unlocked.

The phone shows ineligible on the website. But I was using it previously on Sprint.

If I call Sprint to activate it on the free plan, will they able to activate even though the site says ineligible?

Tl;dr
Creating the account under new social. Using Sprint S7.

Sometimes it says no to older phones on the web checker.
Yes, just call in and sign up with it.

It shouldn't. I have been using my Unlocked or Verizon iphones, switching sims between the major carriers/mvno's, sometimes daily (don't ask laugh out loud )

Just want to be sure I'm doing this correctly. I am currently on the free 1 year plan. My plan expires at the end of the month. My husband just signed up for the free plan a few weeks ago. If I follow the port out steps from the Wiki to T-Mobile he should be able to port my number back in as an added line on his free plan right?

The phone is locked to Sprint. But completely paid off and not blacklisted or anything.

So I guess I need to call and verify?
