Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Sure. Thanks hodaddy and Comintel. Just now I am done with Sprint Chat support and call 1-866-275-1411 and they are saying that you can't add new line under free BYOD plan. You need to go for Kickstart or some other plans. I said, I will look for other options and after long hold, he suggested me to go to Sprint store and they can able to add new line under existing free plan account.

Not sure Sprint store will help me to add new line under free plan. Any experience?.
You have never been able to add lines to the free plan by Chat, in store, or by calling 1-866-275-1411. None of those has ever worked. Store DEFINITELY will not work. Pay no attention to any of the nonsense those people make up to get you off the line or to sell you Kickstart.

You need to call 866-782-8777 and tell them you are pre-approved to add more free plan lines right up to your free plan end date and it is noted in the terms of your account and plan. Argue if they refuse!

I doubt those supposed FED rules are complete or current. Twigby says:

It is not clear if they are saying both requirements need to be met or either one. Also Sprint itself does not even have two-year contracts any more. Sprint has never published its FED policies and nobody knows what they are but I think it often takes more than one or two years if ever in many cases. Many people still cannot unlock FED-locked phones many years later.

I suspects those are guesses / rumors / partial truths that are incomplete.

The one year rule is for prepaid phones on Boost, Virgin, or Sprint Prepaid which is a different thing.
Yeah nobody really knows about the FED. One time I activated on free boyd plan a paid off unlocked Verizon iPhone 7 Plus and sprint put the FED flag on it. Possibly because I only had it active on sprint briefly before doing sim swap.

I would call or chat with the link i posted and just tell them you are looking at a used phone and would like to know if any money is owed on it. My call went smoothly. I think they will check for you no problem.

If they said it's paid off and nothing owed, then you should be good after 50 days on. But the ting check worries me unless it just hasn't updated yet. Check again after it's been on your account for a week or so. Also maybe do a international chat to double check. Then it's in writing.

Also if was active , the sprint checker would say so.

agree.

i believe the ebay seller more than the sprint

first they say active (which surprise me since i have the phone in my hand and says service disabled)a
,,,,moments later they say no, not active and paid off, but locked.

maybe the rep i gt was just incompetent....

ting tello both say cannot activate , but maybe is because the phone was purchased in 11/2018...so may need to wait 15 months..(but who knows if that is even a real requirement as comitel points out)

My guess is you'll be good for unlock after the 50 days as they suggest. This has happened to me more than once.
I can't remember exact details except that I was skeptical it would work but did.
Nice to see all my favorite BYODers still here offering great information.
Merry Christmas to one and all

Any experts here think this offer will come again in 2020? or just done forever, I'm in the free plan until next month and after its $60...

Also, I have bought a new phone fully paid and unlocked version. If I change my sim card to the new phone its not working. Do we need to call sprint and update the IMEI of new the phone to make it work?

Have any one come across this situation?

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

It is over for good in my opinion unless possibly the merger falls through.

On Sprint, you activate phones, not sims, and do not move sims around between phones except in very limited cases. So you need to first get the correct sim for the new phone (order the universal kit for $2.99 on Amazon or from Sprint) and then swap online or via chat (or call).

First step is check the IMEI at sprint.com/bringit to be sure there are no issues there (but do NOT go through the steps to activate the phone there - just check the IMEI).

No it would not work. Sims required for iPhone models have changed several times between those two models. It has nothing to do with size.

Apple might give you a sim if you ask at a store.
