Buying Arlo pro 2 was the worst decision I have ever made. The system is absolutely useless as a notification based system and much more expensive for a surveillance. Even the new software (Smart) cannot recognize a man from behind and sometimes even front. Absolutely useless.

My Arlo Pro system detects and alerts me of the mailman, UPS and Fedex guys when they enter a gated area. Camera is pointed at the front door and first detects them from the rear as they approach the door. I can see them leave the package. It also shows their faces clearly when they leave. I have another camera pointed at the driveway and street at night to detect anyone near my cars outside the gated area.

whilw there are documented cases of defective hardware and previous software bugs,
most issues are caused by improper mount height and/or angle. I would suggest trying the height and angle guidelines as recommended in the manual as a first step

I bought mine two months ago or so. Absolutely love them. I have a brick house with trouble accessing outer wall areas in the attic. This saved me from having to go through a huge headache. For a battery powered device im happy. If you can wire do it that way, but if you need wireless I would recommend these. The most used camera shows 56% battery after two months use.
