Has anyone pryed one open to see if they are four AAAAs in each 9V as there are with some mfgs? That would be a real deal.

This is a really good deal considering these are alkaline vs the "heavy duty" dollar store ones. These should last at least twice as long in smoke detectors, for about the same price per each.

I've seen those, as well as the stacked, flat cells, and I don't know about these. I'm just curious, what do you do with the AAAA cells, use them as cheap but low-capacity AAA replacements? And aren't 9V batteries 6 x 1.5V, not 4 cells?

I strongly recommend and suggest 10 year lithium detectors. Last I knew, they were a little as $20 ea. Do the math on battery changes, but more importantly you won't have to change batteries and possibly forget to.
