Just trying to give back to the community:

Got this from the last Slickdeal of very same card, at the same price, and I pulled the trigger.

I couldn't be happier, it handles 1440p 60hz in mid to high settings for every game I'm throwing at it (AAA titles from 2015 to 2019), however my setup is not normal, here's how I have the card running:

* Sonnet 550 watts external eGPU enclosure through Thunderbolt 3.
* Laptop with 8th gen. i7 2.6Ghz base clock
* 32Gb DDR4

Here's the highlights:

** Card does run at 99% load (depending on the settings), so it is safe to confirm that you won't be CPU constrained with a mobile processor like mine (at least with 2.6Ghz base clock).
** CPU runs at constant 20-30% load, individual clocks do spike 100%, but the CPU itself runs at71-79C
** GPU inside that enclosure runs anywhere from 75-80C, never seen it spike to 85C.

The only game I have seen using my card at 99% non-stop, sucking the life (at 78C) out of my new Vega 56, is...(drumbs).. Crysis 2, you guessed right!, I get anywhere from 60-90 FPS at 1440p with ultra settings and high resolution textures.

Very good card for 1080p and not too bad at 1440p. For $300 this is the best deal out right now, pretty close to a rtx2060 in performance.

A fan of all Sapphire cards - a good deal available on a few sites at the price.

Does this card mesh well with 1440p? Or should I keep waiting for a deal on a rtx 2070? I recently bought a 1440p 144hz monitor on another slick deal and am in the process of upgrading my setup

this price seems to come up frequently, might as well wait until after computex unless you need it asap

The 2070 is going to beat it, but the Vega 56 performs rather well, especially if it's OC'd. Here's a video if you want to see it in action (skip to 2:25): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7XOott2_68

Haven't had the best luck with Saphire but looks like a good deal and nice card.

Anyone know minimum PSU this thing needs?

That sucks. Sapphire makes the best AMD cards, but there will always be some duds. Depending on your system, a 550 watt psu should be good.

May pull the trigger for a Mojave Hackintosh build. Getting tired of waiting for RTX Nvidia drivers!

Have stock Dell with like 450W PSU so have to do some research to see if this can work...

Currently have an R9 Fury and it's getting time for an upgrade. Can't decide if I should get this or wait for the new AMD cards. I could only justify paying $400 for the new AMD card if it surpasses the RTX 2070.
