Yeah, still a really nice TV, but I'm waiting for the 2019's to drop in price as the improvements to this years models are supposed to be very noticeable. Sure I'll have to wait tell next March or so, but that's the life of a bargain hunter.
Anyone happen to have any input on this and if the Samsung Q70 would be worth an $800 premium over the Vizio? Would be using it for movies and games in the basement (not a lot of natural light).

and then you'll find out the 2020 models have significant improvements and you'll wait for 2021 for those to drop, and so on and so on. i know the feeling.

Youll be waiting about 9 months before 2019 s start dropping, and they may never drop this low considering all the upgrades 2019 will have.

It's all about setting your goal point. This year added Quantum dots to every part of the M and P series, and upped the number of local dimming zones significantly (outside the lower tier M series...), so it's hard to see what big change could be announced. Maybe if they announced a full on OLED set next year for P series prices, I'd wait, but outside that I think this year offers enough for me. Just have to get to the right price point, which is still a ways off.

Happily I'd be fine paying a bit more then this one, but the P series Quantum can be grabbed for 1300 now, which is about 800 off it's original MSRP, which is the same discount the 2019 p series would require. Costco also has the PX for 200 off already, so it's not like sales aren't going to happen, and things will be cleared out eventually. My personal goal would be the P for about 1400, or the PX for 1500, and if I need to wait a year, that's fine.

I completely agree. I'll be buying a PX-Q as soon as the 75" is below $2K.
