Stocking up for Corona virus

Hey guys,
Is anyone stocking up on "survival items" in fear of the Corona virus? So far I haven't, but I see a lot of the supermarkets empty from people like that here. Are the fears warranted, should I do the same?

What? Why would they be turned away? Is there a prepper check hospitals do?
Side note: We have an ER doctor here in critical condition with the virus.

IF there's one thing this has taught me is that it seems lots of people have very little supplies on hand just as a standard practice. I believe I've pointed out in this or other threads that I am the kind of person that doesn't like to run out of things, so I buy on sales and keep it around. Obviously that doesn't apply to milk, bread, etc, but to other staples, paper products, etc. That way if there's a snowstorm and getting out of the house for a few days will be difficult, it's not a big deal.
I realize the panic buying is fearing a longer-term shortage of things (but really, TP? You all know that you can wipe your butts with a towel and wash it, right? I mean, cloth diapers are even still a thing....), but there are plenty of stories like yours. Stories of people running out of formula for babies in the matter of a few days, etc.

A prepper would have already been prepared well before this run on food and supplies. The people buying stuff up are people who weren't prepared so they were not preppers, in fact they are the opposite.
Also I was responding to the person saying something about preppers being turned away or something.

I live in a studio apartment. I have a mini fridge with a decent but tiny freezer. I'm disabled so the money isn't there to panic buy. Even if I could there would be no place to store it.

Or worries deeply about their pet fish. [There were a lot of worriers at Chewy apparently]

Your skin if intact is an amazing barrier to most germs. If COVID-19 lands on your arm, you will never know it. As long as you don't transfer it to mucus membranes such as nose, eyes, mouth, ears, (and other more intimate body parts) you will be okay in that place. Washing carefully would take it right off.
If you were really worried, or taking care of a sick patient, then something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Kleenguard...01
Nothing like this is foolproof. I've been through training cleaning up this powder: http://www.cleaningdet

A lot of people are in newer micro units which average less than 200 sq ft with no stove or oven so I'm grateful to have more than that. I have a good supply of toilet paper and am learning to make my own bread.
I ordered a ton of flour and yeast and suggest others do the same and learn to bake.
The first vaccine trial starts tomorrow.

When the test is available to see if you have already had the virus, I am gonna get it done.

One hack I know is use eye glass wipes, the main ingredient alcohol. Bleach wiped in all stores in my area.
I just went over to the pool/lawn/garden section and got pool bleach. 10% vs 6% so watch your hands.
