After an internal debate, I decided to bite the bullet and went for a self-install. I have taken my car dash and center console apart, so it was trivial for me to do so. However, it took me 2 hours to finally find an install manual specifically for my car. Another 2 hours later and it is installed. However, the module requires programming and to do that I need another $40 part.
So for what its worth. You can have the bestbuy guys do it (assuming you get a good vibe from the installer) or find a manual and do it yourself (Would not recommend unless you are handy).
All in all I would install it again myself, so that I dont have to wait and I have heard horror stories too....

Bestbuy couldn't keep installers and had no installers for a span of stores and then would loan them to other stores creating massive backlogs and this was before COVID. Many installers would messup and then would not be allowed to work and then would have to get installers from other locations adding to the long delays. I bought mine 2 years ago in Nov and did not get it installed until March 2019.
Post Covid for example in the PA are I have no installation for almost 50 miles and the install locations show up for Delaware and NJ and that too months out.
Unit is good and the installs (2) are working fine except for 1 remote not being able to be paired and BB having to reset the programming last year. I wish I would have bought a 2nd unit prior to install as the tech said he'd have setup/configured the 2nd remote without any additional charge. Note only 1 remote is 2 way.
