Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

Are we able to get this deal if currently paying for two phones on two lines? Also is it possible to pay off remaining balance on one phone and get this deal?

Have you ordered the phone? If you have you should be able to get past the first page where you enter the phone number and the code, unless you truly have an ineligible rate plan (I think only value essential is excluded).
Yes I have ordered the phone already. Unless of course they give me a wrong code, which is quite possible given everyone is looking for one now.

Check the code here.

Also, is the phone number you entered the same one that you upgraded the phone on?

Do you know what the reserved status mean? I received a code and when I checked using the above link, it says reserved.

If you haven't used it, somebody else already did.

Tempted to get this for my wife, she has an S8+ which I would sell locally & I would trade in a $60 Cricket iPhone 7 for the S20 FE.
There are a couple of things that making me hesitate:

1. From my understanding the S8+ has a better display 2960 x 1440 pixels, 18.5:9 vs 2400 x 1080 pixels, 20:9 ratio on the S20 FE........is this really noticeable?
2. S8+ has gorilla glass back whereas the S20 FE has a plastic back.....big deal?
Of course there a lot of specs that are better on the S20 FE than S8+.
What do you think.......is it worth the getting the S20 FE in this case?
Also, do we get the pre-order $70 for accessories from Samsung with this trade in offer?
1. Most of people with S20 or newer use FHD+ instead of QHD+ since the 120Hz refresh rate only works with FHD+ setting. FHD+ with 120Hz looks great.
2. I've seen Galaxy Note 20 back and it looked fine. I'd go to Best Buy and check Note 20s since it has basically the same back panel.
I think you should get it if you don't plan to leave T-Mobile anytime soon. If she doesn't like the FE, you can just sell it as well.

Yep, I make sure it's the same number as when I upgraded the phone. I am on the T-Mobile One plan so I don't think it should be an issue.

Need some help. Want to do this right.

Current customer. Not adding a line. I have a 3a that I still pay monthly and get credits monthly. (Net free cost) I also have a $200 off hookup code.

Can I trade in the 3a? Do I pay off the $100 I owe first? Can this deal be combined with the hookup code?

Free with no trade in required when you activate a new line:

If you want to keep your existing number, just port it to Tello for $3 and then port back to the new line.
How long does porting out a number from 1 paid line to tello then porting onto a free line take? Would the paid line get a new nunber?

You can pay off the 3a and use it as a trade-in for this phone. However, if you do that you will lose your credits (This is talking to their regular rep and then eventually confirmed with T-Force). So I don't know of any sure way not to lose the credits if you are using the 3a as a trade-in (of course other then getting one off of ebay).

I guess I don't mind losing the 3a credits as long as I can get the FE deal. I owe $100 on it. So I'll pay $100 to get a $500 trade in.

Do you know if the hookup $200 can be applied to the remaining 199 I'd owe?

So I pre-ordered and then got a Type 3 code. I went to the insider link and got all the way to the form where you fill out the address and IMEI number. I was told by a rep that the offer was good if you purchased by Sept 30 which I have done. There is no way for me to enter a IMEI number until I actually receive my phone. Will my code still be good then (is it now reserved for me?)? Is it okay to close the window with this form?
