I believe so. Cricket and Red Pocket both use at&t towers. Cricket is pretty much at&t..... You can use at&t locked phones with cricket but you can't do it the other way around.

As far as getting the phone for $50 yes. There was a sale and promo that stacked to get that price. Walmart figured out that they made a mistake and lowered the activation promo from $200 to $100. So the current price is $150 for the phone when you buy the $50 plan. I reported the deal expired because I do not want SDers waste there time to find out the mistake was corrected when they try to replicate.

So how long did this deal last for, just the day that it was posted?

It was one day and in store only. So they had to have it in stock and had to have a third party cellular rep who activated phones. So if they went home at say 6 and you came at 6:01 you were SOL. Walmart figured out the mistake and fixed it

Yea I know this,usually they leave at 6 pm. If he wasn't there , which by the time this thread was posted, most had left, very few people got it

- Prepaid (no credit check)
- Post paid(credit check required)

IF you use on Post paid without 6 months of using on prepaid, the Phone WILL work but you cannot unlock it for other carriers without FIRST using for 6 months on AT&T PrePaid (service / paid usage).

Remember AT&T Locked phones - post / or prepaid will work on vice versa as it is the same network.You can directly use it, the issue arises in using on other carriers like TMobile etc (if its AT&T Prepaid locked) then it wont work.
Clarifying the 6 month portion. In order to unlock it then, I must use the phone on PRE paid for 6 months. (I can't use att pre paid for 1 month, and att post paid for 5 months).

Will this work with Cricket sim out of the box or does it have to be ATT prepaid for 6th months even though ATT owns Cricket.

Mine was delivered today. Working fine on cricket . So happy i can throw away my lg v35 thats stuck on android 9
