Forget the haters! My wife and her aunt have something similar. If the performance is the same, It's a great deal for less tech-savy uses, like home study, or for media consumption. Windows 10 works just fine once you switch out of S mode. Streaming services work, Zoom works, light browsing works (seen the wife with 10 tabs open in Chrome and Edge just fine). They pay bills, do online shopping, write emails - all that stuff. The kids play Roblox and Minecraft. Wife hooks up to the TV to do her workouts. The specs are all low-end, but it is $150.

So what are the cons? It's not thin, nor light. The camera is hot garbage to me, but the wife uses it for Zoom and hasn't complained yet, so there's that. The screen is ... meh. I mean, our phones have better screens, and I'll bet a $150 phone might as well. At first I was concerned about the 4GB of ram, but honestly, it hasn't been a problem YET. I'm sure, in the future we'll have to revisit this. I would like an ethernet jack, but it's hard to tell because they only use them in the house and we have good wi-fi. If we go on vacation, it might be a different story. Also, 128GB of storage is nothing these days. You will run out fast if you have a lot of media. But this problem isn't exclusive to this particular model, as the majority of laptops are in the same boat. So add the cost of external storage (SD card, external drive, cloud) to the overall price. Finally, the battery life is not good. You'll have to pay more to start getting decent longevity.

I'm telling you guys. Avoid these lower end Lenovo laptops. Already purchased and returned two similar models. RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded. Even running basic tasks on Windows 10 is hard for these to handle, especially with only 4GB of RAM.

and got the soldered ram and one ram slot free?
Yes I just put 8gb ram in mine. Very easy to install the ram, as soon as you take back cover off it's quite obvious as it's an open ram slot. Just insert the ram at an angle and push down for it to click.

The only sucky part is after removing the back screws, you need to depress the cover clips around the edges using something like a soft plastic credit card. Other then that, easy. I gently pulled up where it meets the lid hinge to slightly open enough to put the card in.

In about your PC for windows 10, it shows 12GB ram installed with 11.8 usable

Got nervous about my first order not working out (still hasn't shipped for some reason), so I just ordered another one. Surprisingly, the one I ordered on 11/11 has an estimated delivery date of 11/18, while the one I ordered today has an estimated delivery date of 11/16.

Edit: Assuming they both ship, maybe I can sell the other one on CL for $200...

Thanks for letting us know about the extra memory slot! Mine arrives Monday, hopefully along with a 8gb stick from Amazon.

Try this. Found this on Google:

On your PC running Windows 10 in S mode, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section, be careful not to click the "Go to the Store" link that appears there.)

On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.

But no cable right? Every video I've seen shows that if it didn't come with a 2.5" drive, the cable that goes from SATA to the proprietary ribbon connector on the motherboard is not included making the cage essentially useless unless one can source that cable somewhere.
