Forget the haters! My wife and her aunt have something similar. If the performance is the same, It's a great deal for less tech-savy uses, like home study, or for media consumption. Windows 10 works just fine once you switch out of S mode. Streaming services work, Zoom works, light browsing works (seen the wife with 10 tabs open in Chrome and Edge just fine). They pay bills, do online shopping, write emails - all that stuff. The kids play Roblox and Minecraft. Wife hooks up to the TV to do her workouts. The specs are all low-end, but it is $150.

So what are the cons? It's not thin, nor light. The camera is hot garbage to me, but the wife uses it for Zoom and hasn't complained yet, so there's that. The screen is ... meh. I mean, our phones have better screens, and I'll bet a $150 phone might as well. At first I was concerned about the 4GB of ram, but honestly, it hasn't been a problem YET. I'm sure, in the future we'll have to revisit this. I would like an ethernet jack, but it's hard to tell because they only use them in the house and we have good wi-fi. If we go on vacation, it might be a different story. Also, 128GB of storage is nothing these days. You will run out fast if you have a lot of media. But this problem isn't exclusive to this particular model, as the majority of laptops are in the same boat. So add the cost of external storage (SD card, external drive, cloud) to the overall price. Finally, the battery life is not good. You'll have to pay more to start getting decent longevity.

I'm telling you guys. Avoid these lower end Lenovo laptops. Already purchased and returned two similar models. RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded. Even running basic tasks on Windows 10 is hard for these to handle, especially with only 4GB of RAM.

I installed a 16GB Crucial stick from Amazon ($56) and the system recognized it right away. Not sure if the difference between 8GB, 12 and 20 are noticeable, but for $50 why not.

The CPU itself can support up to 64GB:

My only complain is the battery life, I looped a 1080p video and seems like the battery can only last a little over 3 hrs! Anyone knows if there is a way to upgrade the battery? Maybe a bigger pack that use up the ssd space?... I guess since the screen is only 720p, I should loop a 720p video instead. May save battery life.
Hmm, not sure. I've only run the battery down through a couple of cycles so far, and I got more like 4.5 hours of general use. That's a lot less than my Chromebook but way longer than my big old i7 Msi, so I'm happy with it. A slightly larger (physically larger) battery may fit but I have no clue about sourcing one, what connector is needed, or anything else pertaining to that.
Another plus I didn't mention before: no heat. The fan is quiet, I've rarely noticed it running at all, and the chasis has never even felt warm. Heat per se doesn't bother me, but I've often been annoyed by fans running constantly or spooling up frequently with other laptops.

That's nice to know. I'm not sure how much my usage patterns would benefit from that much RAM, but I was definitely planning on adding an 8GB stick. For some reason I never considered adding 16GB, but now I'll have to look into it. Thanks.

I can also confirm that the Crucial 8GB from Amazon works fine, also passing the memtest.

I also installed the sata cable from Amazon and it works properly as well. Flip up the small black hinge on JHDD1 and slide the cable end, blue side up (see photo) You'll just need to remove the battery also to fit the cable underneath.

Has anyone have camera issues? I think mine is stuck on 240p - when in Windows Camera app, changing resolution does nothing and the quality is beyond crap with lots of noise.

Same issue here. It is ridiculously bad. I don't expect much for the price, but it is 2002 flip phone quality.

It is a shame how bad it is but honestly I kind of expected it. Not going to get much quality or detail out of 0.3 megapixels. Shame because I feel even just a 2 or 3MP would have resulted in a night and day difference making it actually useable and have no affect on BOM cost.

Of all the corners to cut, this one baffles me. Even throw away $20 tablets have better cameras.

Totally agree. It's a bizarre choice in this era of remote workers, tele medicine, elearning, having a competent webcam is almost a life requirement. That said it is a $150 that with an additional $50 investment for 8gb of ram, external webcam, and maybe a sd card becomes a great little machine with no competition at $200.... By why oh why lenovo with that webcam.

Tried that site...wow, the webcam on this thing is truly terrible. It almost looks like it is doing some sort of processing on the image because when I look at my self in the video, it appears that there's a border around my body and head like you see when the background is replaced with a virtual background...but in this case, it's the real world background.

I don't really care because I won't ever be using the webcam, but it is good to know for anyone considering using this for their kid's Zoom meetings for school. I guess it's is better than nothing, but it's the equivalent of sending your teenager to school wearing the clothes they wore when they were 6 years old...the other kids are definitely going to make fun of them.

Actually, if they were going to put such a crappy camera in this thing, they should have just left the camera out completely so people wouldn't assume it was defective when they tried to use it. It might have resulted in fewer complaints.

Lol... so the -K210 vs -K200 confusion continues!

I bought this cable from Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R7NTLKC
The description says -K200, the product photo shows a label on the cable that reads -K210

The cable was delivered just now. The label on the box says:
"SATA Cable for 320-15 330-15 NBX0001K210"

Lol.

The cable has the -K210 sticker on it, so I'm unsure if this is what I ordered... or if it's NOT what I ordered.... or if will even work.

The photo on the Amazon listing shows a purple SATA connector. The other cable listing has a black SATA connector. This one is black, but it has the sticker that the purple cable shows, and Blushift's photos of the working connector is also black.... so this is confirmation that it's the right one... or it's confirmation that this is the wrong one. Lol.

Sometime after supper I'll give it all a try. Frankly, I don't know if this is going to be a slam dunk or if there's no possible way this is the right item.

Is this the stick you ordered?

Please forgive my lack of technical prowess with this question:. Is it possible that the camera issues are software driver related and not hardware? I took the laptop outside and in full sunlight and there do appear to be moments where the video cleans up. I also noticed the closer to the camera the better the video is. Almost like the camera is out of focus or wont focus. 480p just shouldn't look this bad.
