Forget the haters! My wife and her aunt have something similar. If the performance is the same, It's a great deal for less tech-savy uses, like home study, or for media consumption. Windows 10 works just fine once you switch out of S mode. Streaming services work, Zoom works, light browsing works (seen the wife with 10 tabs open in Chrome and Edge just fine). They pay bills, do online shopping, write emails - all that stuff. The kids play Roblox and Minecraft. Wife hooks up to the TV to do her workouts. The specs are all low-end, but it is $150.

So what are the cons? It's not thin, nor light. The camera is hot garbage to me, but the wife uses it for Zoom and hasn't complained yet, so there's that. The screen is ... meh. I mean, our phones have better screens, and I'll bet a $150 phone might as well. At first I was concerned about the 4GB of ram, but honestly, it hasn't been a problem YET. I'm sure, in the future we'll have to revisit this. I would like an ethernet jack, but it's hard to tell because they only use them in the house and we have good wi-fi. If we go on vacation, it might be a different story. Also, 128GB of storage is nothing these days. You will run out fast if you have a lot of media. But this problem isn't exclusive to this particular model, as the majority of laptops are in the same boat. So add the cost of external storage (SD card, external drive, cloud) to the overall price. Finally, the battery life is not good. You'll have to pay more to start getting decent longevity.

I'm telling you guys. Avoid these lower end Lenovo laptops. Already purchased and returned two similar models. RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded. Even running basic tasks on Windows 10 is hard for these to handle, especially with only 4GB of RAM.

I think the reviewer got the B+M SSD meaning he got SATA huh? Check at 2:54.
At the 2:55 still frame, you can clearly see half way down on the label of the SSD that it says NVMe, right under the PCI-e.

So, Walmart "lost" my order.

It was supposed to be here last Sunday, then Monday, then Wednesday. Now it just showed "delayed."

After a call mid-week and another today, they agreed to substitute this https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lenovo.../103437747 for it.

I think I just got a deal of the year!

You got an insane deal. The best I could get for my delayed and canceled order is 25% off.

I was able to grab one of the $149 ideapad 3, but my other order was canceled, then I ordered at another store and it went delayed, then ready for pickup, finally they canceled it again.

I contacted support about it and they are escalating it with the store.
I'm sure the store will claim they lost it, but I figure most likely it was canceled in the store and sold to an employee.

See below, my comes with the SN520 nvme, low end one that is faster than SATA but it has the B+M slots.

Vs SATA type

So you can't really tell sata or nvme by looking at the connector but by only the sticker. They can all be m.2.

Same brand, but I ordered the 2666. Don't think the 2400 will be an issue, as I understand that is what comes with the Lenovo to start with.

Edit to add: Just noticed that there's a drop down for 'Capacity' options are: "16GB" and "16GB Dual Rank" I'm not sure what the difference is but I ordered the plain '16GB' option.

I thought I will add the Passmark score into the spin.

Overall, this is adequate for office without adding more ram.

PassMark bench score + Ram picture [postimg.cc]

In addition, onboard ram is DDR4 2666. K4A8G165WC-BCTD ( adding anything faster may be overkill )

What makes you say the onboard ram is DDR4 2666? Everywhere I've read (Lenovo HW Sheet included)states that its DDR4 2400. Is Passmark/another tool telling you this?

That's awesome! I was thinking of setting up a PC to stream games to my Arcade Legends Ultimate cabinet and this might be good enough (and small enough) to do that nicely. Will need to look into this further and see how the processor in this Lenovo compares to the processor in my older 2012 MacBook Pro and an older HP laptop I have sitting around.

RAM marking from the machine indicate K4A8G16 series. Again, I could be wrong.

FF to 4:07 if the link doesn't do that automatically for you.
Here's another great video (25min) showing everything we've been discussing, new ram, SSD, even shows all his steps for cloning the drive to the new one and you can see him installing the new ssd with standoff screw at 18 min mark.

Both of those videos are for Ideapad 3 15.6" model. Probably similar but the hardware is different than this deal.
