Ensure you actually need premium features before buying. As fyi, the dvr functionality is spotty at best (see their forums for proof). Last time I checked it STILL does not support recording encrypted/DRM cable TV. Something that Android TV's like the NVDIA Shield can do and also the Silicondust HDHomerun.
PSA: If you are just streaming on your home network, the free version has everything you need. Also, you can always setup a home network VPN and connect to it through the internet as a workaround.
Still, programmers do need to eat and feed their families, if you are benefited from Plex, even from the free version, please consider paying for the lifetime pass or for the monthly subscription. Similar with Emby and Jellyfin, consider paying or donating so that new features can be added.
