You're talking about the difference between MBA and MBP. Please reread my original question, I was asking about the difference between the 2 MBA models. And btw they both have the same number of ports FYI

Smaller die size is virtually always a benefit. That's not exactly something that's exclusive to apple. Revert processor manufacturer will continue to shrink their die sizes, just like they've been doing for half a century.
