Took me a while to find a straight comparison of this tablet to the Fire hd 10.

I bought the smart tab M8 with dock, expecting it to be a more flexible alternative to the Google nest hub.

It was slow to respond, the low percentage of the time it actually did.
Any reason to expect this to be any better?

Whoopdeedoo Android 10. That's still old and Lenovo hasn't even released it yet. From that page, it looks like every tablet gets 1 major update and it's end of life.

I bought the Tab4 10 Plus LTE for my specific need but I switched to Lineage.

My personal opinion.... it's worth a $20~$30 price difference.
Well it also depends if you want to keep your sanity for $53. I have the 2017 Fire 10 and it's a terrible tablet. I held back otherwise the latest update would have rendered the tablet useless. I had issues with network drops constantly (no suggestions fixed this) and battery drains overnight from 100% to nothing. I finally rooted the tablet and installed a custom rom. The network still drops which leads me to believe it's either the driver for the tablet or hardware related. Battery drain isn't an issue any longer but the tablet is still by no means snappy. Also it's stuck on Android 5 which a lot of apps need to be side loaded or no longer work. I wouldn't touch another fire tablet again.

Let's not even talk about the first gen fire stick. Yes it was a slow device but after the last few updates Amazon made the stick unusable. I don't need to have the latest and greatest (I am still using a 6 year old iPad Air 2) but I want the unit to at least work as well as it did the day I bought it. Amazon throws the big middle finger at you and says too bad.

They sent out e-mails this morning, claiming that this was a Cyber Monday doorbuster starting at 9AM. However, they were already sold out, and never made any more available after that. They won't have any more available today. When it comes back, it likely won't be at this price. It's false advertising. A shame, since I'd talked myself into buying this to upgrade from my Tab M8 FHD.

would be cool to have it docked the video out to TV but MHL support is unlikely, asking too much. This goes for $260 retail without the dock so I hope it ships.

showing $125 again so maybe something is up with stock on the way. Someone was asleep at the wheel after too much turkey. I'd cut them some slack over the holiday with short staff.

It never stopped showing that. I'm not holding my breath. However, the did extend the countdown for their Cyber Monday sales by a day, so who knows?
