"Keep in mind, despite having an octa-core CPU, the lack of Cortex A-73 cores makes this a mainstream SoC at best, which fits the price point well. Other devices in the same class like the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2019) have more raw CPU power due to another component choice. In practice you won't see the same difference as clearly as in synthetic benchmarks and once you compare their behavior in daily use, the Lenovo should feel better than the Fire because 2 vs 4 GB memory makes a world of difference."
It was slow to respond, the low percentage of the time it actually did.
Any reason to expect this to be any better?

Very tempted, if this comes back in stock. Wouldn't mind the bigger size, the extra speaker, double the storage and an extra gig or RAM.
Also, for those ordering directly from Lenovo, be sure to sign up for their rewards program first. Then look for opportunities to get rewards points. If you fill in a few surveys (usually one question, like your zip code, or plans to buy something) and refer someone else (or another of your own accounts), you can rack up around $7 in rewards that can be applied to any order.
If cashback works with the coupon (a certain T.O.P. cashback site is giving 12% right now), then that brings the cost down to just over $100.

Whoopdeedoo Android 10. That's still old and Lenovo hasn't even released it yet. From that page, it looks like every tablet gets 1 major update and it's end of life.
I bought the Tab4 10 Plus LTE for my specific need but I switched to Lineage.

(*The 10" Fire Tablet was on sale a few weeks ago for $72)
My personal opinion.... it's worth a $20~$30 price difference.
Let's not even talk about the first gen fire stick. Yes it was a slow device but after the last few updates Amazon made the stick unusable. I don't need to have the latest and greatest (I am still using a 6 year old iPad Air 2) but I want the unit to at least work as well as it did the day I bought it. Amazon throws the big middle finger at you and says too bad.

Samsung requires a trade-in device.
