Did your soc qualify? I have simple choice but didnt qualify so they gave all credits and i just said cancel the line. Only downside was i couldn't do any new promos for 90 days - even at Tmo's fault but they gave me a bunch of credits.
When I first signed up in the summer they said there shouldn't be any issues. But like I said, had to call every other month to get it adjusted. In fact, just had to call yesterday since I was yet again getting charged again for the line and the rep (Mae) told me that there was a "system error" and I should not have this problem again. I feel like the last 3 or 4 reps told me that 🤞

Yes it will. You will be moved to the 9-12 lines tier which is more expensive per line. Thats what i have, $30/line.
Not entirely sure what that means. Does anything change in terms of monthly fee? As in will I pay more?

3-8 lines are 20 each, 9-12 lines are 30 dollar each, it won't impact your 1-8 lines price.

Oh. That is why when i tried to add the 9th line, it says $30 each month instead of $20. It doesn't matter since the 9th line i am getting tomorrow is free Big Grin

Thanks for clarifying. I also read that I could keep my one plus promo. Thanks again everyone.

I pay about $150 with taxes for 8 lines with 4GB of data - Simple Choice plan I believe. Is there a less expensive plan or one that's the same price but comes with unlimited data?
Please check this thread on reddit. You can switch to the Nafutt4 plan which has unlimited data and still remain on simplechoice.

Yeah, that's what I have to think about. I currently have the Tmobile One All In promo that has a max of 3 lines (I have 2 paid & one FREE). If I add aline to the current plan it will be $40 per line, can't add a FREE line unless I change to one of the Magenta Plans. I have the hookup discount so I currently pay $80 for the 3 lines right now (not including any kickback I may get now that I'm working from home and always using home WiFi), but that won't last forever).

I know there are some features that I will lose from my current promo if I switch. I currently get HD Video, 10GB of Hotspot Data, and unlimited (slow) data in 140+ global destinations (I don't travel much outside of the US though). I think I get text included in those international countries, not too sure.

I pay for Netflix now but it's included with my Xfinity bill. I'd have to check if I can switch to a non Netflix package and save the money per month on Xfinity to be able to take advantage of the T-Mobile Netflix included. Also, not to keen that Netflix included can be stopped at any point per their terms, not sure if it's there to just cover their asses or if they will actually stop it and still have you pay the same monthly plan cost.
You actually won't loose the benefits from the One Plus Promo plan by switching. I was on the exact plan you are on and switched. But, you have to switch to this specific SOC - FRLTULF2. This plan is The T-Mobile One plan for 2/120. The benefits from the One Plus Promo plan were also switched over to this plan and also to all of my additional free lines so don't let a rep say that they can not do it.

Here was my breakdown before switching 2/100 (more time than not I didn't get kickback and I was paying for Netflix myself)

$100 (plan cost) - $20 (hookup 20% discount) + $14 (out of pocket cost for Netflix) = $94

After switching 2/120 and always getting kickback

$120 (plan cost) - $20 (kickback on both lines now guaranteed) - $20 (Hookup discount) + $2 (my Netflix cost after T-mobile pays) = $82

What is kickback?
$10 off plan each month for using less than 2 gigs of data in the month. I do not believe you can get this added to plan anymore. But, I could be wrong.

I'd love to get the tax included as well as Netflix on us, but weary of the promos getting messed up again.

Geez, I was always told I couldn't do that. I have the plan from 2016 with tax excluded, and all of my lines other than. The base 2 are free, plus I have the hookup on account and kickback on those two.

Good to see that some others corroborate this idea. I have no issue waiting until next December to convert two paid lines to free ones (also got the November one).

When the time comes, Is there a more efficient way than porting out to another carrier and then porting back in?
Supposedly there were 1 or 2 scant reports of folks getting a diamond in the rough rep to directly switch paid lines to free lines, I have yet to accomplish this. So, like most will have to wait a year to drop a paid line. Sucks because I missed the last one and this one, and going the next tier up obliviates the purpose of free lines.
