That's normal. The free line promotion doesn't show up when you add a line online. If your plan qualifies, it'll pick up automatically by their system. In the past, text and online confirmation of the promotion shows up when the sim card ships and a phone number is assigned to the new line.
So how do I do it? Should I call or go to their store?

Past free lines, I did one by a call and one by myself online. You can do it any way you prefer (including online).

I don't see any mention of this promotion on the linked page. Any ideas?

Went to Costco to add the line. SIM card was free and the BYOD promo is $100 Costco card. Went home and checked my account and says Line on us 3 $40 (I did the Nov promo too) so I'm concerned this won't stick.

Confirmed 4th line free on Simple Choice North America 6GB Plan. T-Mobile Customer Service was great. $20 for the call-in service fee and $10 for the SIM card. $92/month for 4 lines is a good deal for me. We've never gone over the 6GB/line and the coverage in my area (SoCal) is strong. FYI - the bill will show a charge for the line along with the corresponding bill credit to make the line free.

So what happens if the Line on us 4 doesn't show up or didn't stick? Mine is now showing up as $6 insider discount. Not $30.

I called 611 to check if I qualify for the 4th free line of this year. The rep checked and confirmed that my rate plan(TMobile One) is qualified. Earlier this morning, i went to the store to grab a sim card($10+ tax). I did that on a purpose, because it took 15 days to get my previous sim card from the last free line in Nov. Provided the sim # to the rep and it was quick and easy and waived of $20 assistance fee. She confirmed that it is a free line and gave the new line number. So now i have 7 lines(3 paid and 4 free).
Checked my account and noticed that "$20.00 2020 Line on Us 3(Additional Lines) changed to $40.00 2020 Line on Us 3(Additional Lines)".

Also got a text msg - "Congrats! You will receive your promotional service discount from T-Mobile as long as you maintain eligibility. View http://t-mo.co/activity for account details."

I don't believe so. For those previous free line promotions, you can't cancel a line that existed on your account at that time (for 12 months).

This isn't Netflix or a streaming service. The owner of the line can do as they see fit with it. It's strange you would even consider it being illegal. It's perfectly legal as it's your line and you can charge money for it to someone across the country if you want.
But technicality, along the road FBI might stop at your front door one day if that person use that sim card to make a remote IED somewhere or use that sim card to make bank fraudulent. Etc..
