I picked this up and have been using for about a month. While I have not seen any video issues, I occasionally get a lag of ~10 sec before the audio kicks on when watching specific content. I have experienced a few other things such as specific settings not saving and sound mixing with my center does not always sound perfect. Thick could be blamed in the content though.
Since owning it, I have received 2 firmware updates labeled as 'bug fixes' so at least they are trying to do the right thing.
Sometimes I think this sounds very warm and satisfying... Other times I miss my 11 yr old Onkyo.
Over, my satisfaction is about 7/10.
Is it worth $330? Given what else is out there, yeah. But just keep in mind it may take Yamaha some time to fix what should not have been released as broken.
Yamaha TSR-700 AVR (currently on firmware 1.26)
LG CX 65" OLED (currently on firmware 3.21.09)
Xfinity XG1v4 4K STB
Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray player
Zeskit 8K high speed HDMI cables all the way around
Definitive Technology ProSub 800
Klipsch Quintet SL 5.0 Speakers
Logitech Harmony One Remote
I did buy a few new hdmi cables just in case lol

In context, I would like the overhead speakers to be able to play music, as I have an open concept kitchen/living room.
Thank you
I don't need another receiver until at least May anyway.
I currently have a Yamaha receiver (non Atmos) that I'll just keep for now.

The only thing I couldn't test was 8K60 or 4K120 (which I understand are both 'broken')
The 7 HDMI inputs on the TSR-700 were really nice to have. I also enjoy the look of it, but I understand that this is a YMMV thing. Having a nice, clean design on the front was very nice compared to the ones with all of the USB, Analog, HDMI and buttons on the front of most AVRs.
Atmos worked really well and the auto-switching of speakers was great (it lets you connect 9 speakers, but only uses 7 at a time.. it alternates from 7.2 surround to 5.1.2 atmos based on audio tracks, which was great - in most other 5.1.2 systems I've seen, you either get 5.1.2 (during atmos) or 5.1 on non-atmos tracks. Having the option to plug 2 rear surrounds in for a 7.1 experience was very nice). This is all done automatic, so no needing to re-configure it each time.
Lots of HDMI Inputs, MusicCast was nice, sound was good.. it even named all of my inputs as soon as I plugged them in (PS4, UDP-203, Xbox One, etc..)
My only complaints: It's only 7.2 / 5.1.2 -- I ended up returning it for the Denon x3600h since it went on sale and could do 11.2 (7.2.4).
The audio scale is a little weird. Instead of 0-50 it's something like -60 to +40
And the audio calibration is nowhere near as nice as Audyssey XT32 on the Denon.
For $399, I was more than happy with it.
I believe a lot of the HDMI issues people are experiencing MIGHT be tied to HDMI ARC? I don't use that, but I know it causes a lot of problems. And the 8K60/4K120 thing will be a hassle since it can't be fixed with firmware. Yamaha has committed to fixing it.. but that might mean mailing back a hefty receiver.

why would you have to do that 🤔🙄
Save your $350.
Returned mine after 3 months, buggy, lifeless sound - way under powered .
There's a reason its a blow out price....
Guess who gets all the money in a lawsuit? The class action members probably get a coupon for 20 percent off a Yamaha t shirt.
