Link for reference only. B&M only, Autozone web guys couldn't find it when I called but it was sitting on the shelf at the local store. Appears to be their regular price, not sure why they're $100 cheaper than any other seller. Maybe even cheaper with a coupon.

Boss Audio BE10ACP Digital Multimedia Receiver with (wired) Android Auto and CarPlay, 10.1" capacitive touchscreen, rear and front camera inputs, USB charging, removable and adjustable screen, external mic, etc.

Yeah, I know, Boss audio isn't known for high quality but for $250 out the door at your local Autozone, you're getting a LOT of bang for not much buck. I looked around and the closest big name that compares feature to feature is an Alpine unit that is $999. I've had it in my car for a few days and I'm very happy with it. So much so that I bought a second one for my wife's car. When I bought the second one, I mentioned that I was trying to buy it online as there was a discount available but it shows as in store only. The guy at the store gave me a 10% discount. YMMV.
Waiting on the install kit to be delivered so I can install hers. Single DIN so if you have double din like our cars, you'll need a kit with some kind of space filler. Crutchfield said it doesn't "fit" my car as but it went in using the same single DIN kit I got from them for the JVC (No screen or carplay and the Bluetooth was going out) I replaced with this one.
Crutchfield, Amazon, etc. all have this unit for $329. Good reviews at that price. For $100 less than that I imagine the reviews would be even better.
Unit comes with 3 year warranty from Boss. Autozone also gives a 1 year in store repair/replacement warranty with this unit. Details on your receipt.

This thing was a steal for ~$200 + tax. Mine's been pretty rock solid. It is basic in some features, but the 10" capacitive display more than makes up for those shortcomings.
bought but returned on the 30th day. they didnt bite on the coupon. so i paid full price for it. then no time to play with it. i wonder how people asked them to give 10% off on top of it. there is no physical coupon in my area and they refused their .com promo saying its for online purchases.

Well I argued that I was going to buy it online but it wasn't listed on their website for some reason. Kind of was the truth because my local store didn't have it so would've ordered it online for less hassle and to save $. The guy kind of gave me a look when I asked about it and then came over with a manager and approved it.

Yeah, it's not bad at all (especially for this price). I still think it was supposed to be $329 and somebody in corporate messed up and listed it for the same price as the BE7ACP since none of the other Boss units are on sale or anything. And it's too new to be on clearance. It does have some short comings but the most important things are good - screen is fairly solid, bright enough (may be a little too bright), and it's fairly responsive to touch (most cheaper head units use crappy resistive touch screens). The disconnections I was having with android auto seem to be minimized with a shorter cable. Still wondering if it's a phone issue, an android auto issue (carplay might work flawlessly for all I know), or may be a low power thing from the head unit. If it does have to do with the length of the USB cable then I'm guessing people who have to extend the tiny USB pigtails that come from the back of the unit with USB extension cables are probably having a miserable time with disconnects. And since I mentioned the screen brightness, are you or anyone else seeing that bug I mentioned about the day brightness setting reverting to the night brightness setting? Just wondering if that's a bug or I have a dud of some sort. Oh, and I figured out what video files this thing plays off a flash drive, MKV. I had a bunch of movie rips on a flash drive and most were either m4v or mp4 but for some reason I had a random mkv file on there and it was the only one showing up. No audio though and the aspect ratio was screwed up. Will have to take the drive out next time I think about it because I'm not sure if the audio was DD, DTS, AAC, MP3, etc. I'll post back results though soon.
Edit: Audio in that one MKV file was 2 channel AAC.
Just thought I'd quote you so you hopefully see this. I was looking a couple days ago and noticed there's a firmware update in the BE10ACP listing on Boss' website. There's no real instructions how to install it. I've spoken to a couple chat techs through the website, they say it DOES fix the brightness bug, as well as some EQ bug. The problem is, they aren't really clear how to install it either (lol) and it's failing on their end, too. They said they are working on fixing it. I suggest you hit up their chat and ask about it, too. Hopefully the more people that do, the faster this problem will get fixed. They said they will email me when they figure it out. I'll reply back here if I learn anything new.

Thanks for the heads up. Got a link to the firmware? Honestly I was looking for a firmware update on their site recently and didn't see anything of the sort. I'll have to check their product page again if I can find it (last time I was on their site I was browsing their head units and didn't even see this model as one of the ones listed). I'll try whatever and don't care about bricking the damn thing at this point because I'm getting rather frustrated with the disconnects lately. Tried a myriad of different cables now and even have a different android phone now with the latest Android (was using a POS moto with Android 9 previously and thought that may be the culprit). The actual update probably wouldn't be too hard. Probably have to just put it onto the root of a flash drive and plug it into one of the USB ports, start it up and process is most likely automatic.

Edit: If you do a websearch for Boss Audio BE10ACP, a few items down should be the product page for this thing (don't know why it isn't listed on their site when you browse head units). Anyway, downloaded the firmware and it's a 90 something MB BIN file (it's located under users manual for some reason). I'll update this post tonight or some time tomorrow and let you guys know if it's pretty straight forward or not. There might be a whole process but with most head units I've had before, putting it on the root of a USB drive (with nothing else on the thing) was all it took and the instructions popped right up on the screen.

Edit 2: No clue how to update this thing LOL. Inserting a thumb drive with just the firmware on it doesn't seem to do anything at all in either USB port. Tried doing this with the unit on doesn't do anything along with doing this with the unit off and then powering it on. Maybe there has to be an initiation process or it may be something as simple as placing the update into a folder on a flash drive and naming the folder something specific like "Update BE10APC" but without the exact instructions, it's a needle in a haystack. I'll hit up the chat on their site like you suggested.

Sorry for the late reply. The initial instructions they gave me are
1. Put the file in the root of the flash drive
2. Boot the stereo with the flash drive connected
3. Go to settings>about, scroll down to the bottom and an option should appear for firmware update.

But as I said, it doesn't seem to be working. That option doesn't appear at all. I have an open ticket with them, I'll reply to them in a few days to see if they have an update.

As far as the disconnects, have you seen anyone else with the problem? If not, it sounds like there must be something wrong with the stereo. You could ask Boss about a warranty replacement. I think Autozone also warranties the unit for a year.

I drive much more than most people (my commute right at the moment is 81 miles one way) and those disconnects don't seem to happen until I've been driving for a good bit. Yeah, believe there was a couple of people mentioning this in the youtube videos comments but maybe I'll take another gander. Would think that maybe there would be more mentions of it in reviews if it was an "issue", so maybe there is something wrong with my HU. Was talking to a co-worker of mine just a couple of days ago and he has the exact same problem with the factory HU in his newish (think it's a 2019 or something) Civic Si. As far as the update goes, yeah, we're going to need some sort of self executing file (not some BIN file) since the option to update is missing. I submitted a support ticket today since there is no chat available. I think what is going to happen is that they just take down the firmware and we will be lucky if we see a corrected one.

Edit: Yeah, was just responding to someone else with the same connection issues as me in the youtube comments so I'm not the only one. Without going into a whole bunch of previous posts, were you using Android Auto or Carplay with yours? And like I said, had the issue with a previous phone and now this one is doing it as well. But this is besides the point because I did a trip recently in my wife's car (2019 VW with wired android auto) all the way down to Myrtle Beach which ended up being around 10 hrs each way and didn't have one issue at all. Poked around on Boss' site a bit more looking over all their other HUs (still didn't see this model under single or double DIN units for some reason) and no other models have firmware under downloads so I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a fix for the firmware we can't install. The people that you ask probably are sitting in front of a computer screen and not this HU so they don't know what's going on at all. There's a good chance that they don't even have access to them at all. Hell, they may not even have automobiles to install them into if given the choice. The way that I feel with this product along with most others these days is that we the consumers are nothing but beta testers since they never iron out any issues before releasing these units.

If anyone a solid reccomendation on a double din I reccomend the PUMPKIN Octa-Core Double 2Din Android 9.0 Car Stereo 4GB+64GB FM 7" GPS Navi RDS on e-bay. It's been a great headunit. Tons of features. Works flawless everytime and doesn't drain your battery when sitting for months at a time. Also the start up time is 2 seconds when in the quick start mode. 30 seconds on full shut off mode. I did 'make an offer' and got it for $200 shipped. Screen is super crisp and responsive.

Just following up on this there is another download available on their site now along with the original BIN download that was there. This one is a folder labeled BE10ACP_SW_UPDATE and has a different BIN labeled ISPBOOOT (with 3 "O"s LOL). No instructions or anything still. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) May try and put it on a flash drive (in unzipped and in zipped format - sometimes with software/firmare they need to be left in zipped format) along with the original file (just in case that's needed) and see what happens because I'm thinking this new file is to initiate the update. I'll post back if I figure out anything.

EDIT: New BIN isn't doing anything either. Left it in the zip folder & unzipped folder, plus placed it on the root of the drive too along with the original BIN file that was on their site. Just get "NO DATA CAN BE PLAYED" message. Oh well, thought it was worth a shot.

Consider yourself lucky you didn't get it to work. I just did the update with the instructions from post #129, and everything seemed to go great. Selected firmware update, new screen comes up with the current and new firmware numbers, a progress bar completed. Reset radio and..... the brightness bug is fixed, but the ONLY SOUND the radio will make is the awful button beep. No radio. No carplay. I'm emailing the boss tech support guy, but guessing my radio is bricked. Ughhh

edit: fixed double quote

So the update option was there with the new file on the flash drive? All I tried was plugging it in, and then selecting USB. But I got the message I mentioned earlier (NO DATA CAN BE PLAYED). Never even thought of going into the options to see if the update option was there. Did you have both the BIN files on the drive? Maybe try and do it again. I mean, what's the worst that could happen LOL? Maybe try and do it once again but don't reset it (that right there may do a factory reset like on a phone where it rolls crap back to factory, including software). Maybe yours was a fluke or maybe the firmware is just borked.

Edit: Took the plunge and did mine too. Same results as you; beep tones from button presses but absolutely nothing else LOL. Truthfully, I was getting tired of this head unit with all the disconnects (always seems to happen at the worst times). Now I have a real reason to send it back to them. Do send it back to them or will Autozone except an exchange or whatever? Let me know what they tell you if they get back to you first.

Well, sorry it happened to you too, but glad to know it wasn't anything I did wrong. I've been back and forth with tech support, they've said check default volume levels and do factory reset. No help. When I asked about reinstall or rollback of firmware, they just said "I'll have to check with my R&D team. I don't have an answer at this time." I guess I'm going to push for a replacement if they don't come up with an answer quickly. I know when I bought it, Autozone said it had a 1 year replacement warranty. But I'd rather Boss ate the cost of replacement.. they published this brick firmware. I've pretty much lost what little faith I had in Boss after this experience.
