I have 805 fico and they decline my Application for Venture credit card and wasted 1 credit check. I won't be applying any Capital one credit card anytime soon.
Call the reconsideration line, could be an error on the app or a typo. Happened to me before
Keep in mind that you'll also get a hard pull from all 3 bureaus anytime you apply for a Capital One credit card.

If you get an offer saying your pre-approved ,and you can apply for the card without it affecting for credit score ,don't believe it! They sent me this offer in my email ,so since they said it wouldn't effect my credit score applying for it ,I did.I got the card but they lied.My credit score took a 7 pt. hit from them.
Me too. I I have 820 credit score through chase and they still decline my Application for Venture credit card and wasted 1 credit check. I got approval for all the major credit cards which I applied in the past. I will not be applying any Capital one credit card any more.
Yea I have 815 credit score and just got declined. F them, will never apply/use their card again, they don't deserve anyone's business.

No.
If you read what it said when you were filling it out, you'd see that there's no credit hit only *IF* you don't accept the card offer if they happen to approve you. If you choose to accept, then it'll show up on your credit report (as any other credit card you'd get would do).
I know this (from personal experience) bc a *LOT* of cc companies do this (I want to say all that will actually tell you if you're pre-approved or not def do it).
They all say how your credit score won't go down/the credit check won't show up *unless* you're approved & you accept whatever they offer you.

Capital One crap anyways. I've had their QS card for many years and been paying their $40 annual fee. I've tried over the years to get them to remove it or move me over to a zero annual fee card with zero luck. They truly dont give 2 chits about their customers.
Cancelling/closing a card will just lower your credit score!
Some people are too obsessed with their credit scores... don't let your credit score control you, but do pay your bills and pay them on time (as you should with or without worrying about a credit score).
Applied and got approved right away. Only 1k tho. Still happy with the 200 bonus and 15 months of 0% apr.
20% apr after. 740 credit score. 50k student loans. 14k car and another 1k credit card completely paid off.
got the 200$. bought a PS5 for 500 plus tax rom PS direct after being on the waitlist since last year, I was adamant not to support those scalper prick low lives.. So the $200 helps.
Does the $200 show up on the account right away after you spend $500 or does it show up a month or two later ?

Why would you cancel? Keep it for minimum payment till 14 months and pay in full on the 15 month as the intro APR is 0%
