Target priced matched Amazon $249.99 x Redcard 95% = $237.49 +tax $251.73
Still expensive, nice keyboard, mousepad is cool, makes iPad Pro a different experience.

You'll never get a mouse pointer less than the dot. It would undermine the iPad touch experience too much.
What do you mean undermine? Think of all the Windows laptops with pointers and are used as touchscreens. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid!

The UI elements need to be finger sized for touch screen to be good and useful. If they're finger sized then there's no point in having a small pointer. Don't be a goofus.

I've had 3 iPads in my life and only got new ones because I wanted a quality of life upgrade. Always sold for a good price because even after years and years they were in perfect working condition. I've been buying Apple for 15 years and the prices are inflated but out of all the hardware I've owned, I've never once had an issue with any of the iPhones / iMacs / iPads / Mac Minis / MacBooks that I've owned. Literally not a single issue with any product minus slow performance after over a decade of use which you can't say with other products. The assurance you're getting something that's going to live a long life is worth the price.
You are very lucky. We have had numerous problems with our Macs over the years.

Yeah, okay, sure, and I'll say it again, with emphasis, millions of people use Windows (and Chromebooks) with touchscreens and mouse pointers.

There. You are the goofus for ignoring that fact.

Don't forget 5% cash back for Chase Freedom credit card holders if you purchase from Costco. I'm getting one to hold unopened and will return if the next iPad Pro model doesn't fit.
Same. It is already confirmed by leaks the 11" model for 2021 fits the previous 11" accessories, so hopefully the same is true for 12.9"

I got mine in the mail Saturday, and I can't believe I've waited this long to buy this keyboard. It's so much easier to put on and take off than even the folio keyboard. I understand it's expensive even with the discount, but to me personally it is worth it. The trackpad works extremely well, and the gesture support is nearly identical to that of the Mac. I know it's not a popular opinion and a lot of people hate on the price, but it honestly does almost turn your iPad into a MacBook, especially if you're mostly doing web-based work. Having desktop safari on the iPad now, along with this trackpad, and then being able to very easily detach it to use the thing as an iPad again, makes the $250 asking price a bargain, in my opinion.
How thick does iPad get with keyboard on? I use the smartcover, dont want to lose the thin profile

It makes it thicker for sure. You mean the apple folio cover that covers the front and back? I have that one as well, and no case will be as thin as that. The best thing about this one though is the way the magnets are it is very secure but still very easy to take on and off, even easier than the folio case. But it does make the ipad double as thick and the weight is doubled as well.

Think "upside down MacBook" in both terms of weight and thickness.

Purchased this at Costco because of the 90 day return period open/unopened. In case the keyboard drops prices again after the Apple event, I'd have the option to price match.

It's a great keyboard now that I'm using it. Definitely an accessory you'd want for the 12.9" iPad Pro. Love how it stands up and makes watching vids on your lap easier. Typing on it seems very natural as well with the trackpad.

Still on sale at Costco. Buying to go with new 12.9" 1 TB! Pencil 2 is also $10 off. Not the best but worth it to have it day 1.

The new 12.9" doesn't fit in the old Magic Keyboard. Apple says the 11" models fit the old ones, but the new 2021 12.9" is 0.5mm thicker than before so the older Magic Keyboard doesn't close all the way.
