I LOVE the game Crazy Climber and played it in the arcades ages ago. Felt incredible to play it with two arcade joysticks. And here I thought the Switch had nailed the best control system after all these years.
Still have hundreds of games to play/go through.
My old Xi arcade with a BigBox frontend for Mame can be buggy and error out. Same with my 128gb retro pie image. So far smooth sailing with this setup.
I think eventually I will try to hook up my retro pie build to it and give it a whirl.
My first order (3/13) never made it out of the warehouse; it was canceled five days later. My second order (3/20) was supposedly shipped from LA but FedEx hasn't updated the status since 3/23 and now it says it's "Delayed". Wondering if I'll *ever* receive one of these!
I installed this last night (just 8 screws at the bottom to take it apart)
This worked like a charm for me. Really liking the gameplay with a 4 way joystick.
Thanks joeH1974 !
I mean is it even worth getting the warranty?
We can cut the power with a switch for $4.

Awww yea that lil $4 switch is exactly what I needed !
.
I was hoping to enjoy this on my couch wirelessly but due to the slight delay that the controls have and the massive size of the stick that's not going to be possible without making some compromises and additional purchases. (USB extension cable, a USB hub and purchasing a quality stand)
Having playlists for CoinOpsX does help however with loading and navigating and I would dare say they are a must if you have multiple rom sets. Navigating one giant menu with everything mixed together is virtually unusable IMO.
I created playlists for most home console sets that are available at the Internet Archive if anyone is interested; I'm not sure why they are not included in most of the default packages. I followed the directions for playlist creating at the AtGames website [atgames.net]. I attached them to this message; just unzip the folders in your cox folder (That's what she said
You can switch playlists via 1p "X", save games to the Favorites Playlist via 1p "Y" and remove games from Favorites via 1p "B". You can also quickly navigate to the next letter in a playlists via the "R1" and "R2" buttons. Playlists are the saving grace for me; without them I would find CoinOpX just too cumbersome and slow to use.
Rdog, thanks for the idea to take the unit apart and tinker with wires under the hood, if there are Bluetooth issues or buttons not working correctly.

Interesting critical review by guy767: there's way to make things better from what you mentioned, and you have to accept the limitations of arcade controllers in general. This controller was meant to be a great cheaper authentic size alternative to the $500 cabinets(for only $99). And the ability to mod controllers with Sanwa parts and connect it to a PC/other device instead of the puck is the big advantage here.
-----
For those asking about a USB hub, it's recommended to get one so you can hook up the controller directly with least possible input latency/lag connected to the puck.
Useful tips eg.: USB to USB extension cord, USB hub, power switch, buy a stand

+Lots of YouTube vids how to setup Coinopsx and the one below was most people for me to get started. But plenty more videos to learn more about legends gamer pro, addonx, etc. And this entire thread is filled with useful posts. It's actually worth skimming through most of the pages.

An important Coinopsx playlist tip mentioned by FUBBhar: press X on P2 side to cycle through playlists, so all games are not mixed together, or you can view by genre or favorites lists. You can make more textfile lists and edit them with more games on your coinopsx flashdrive.

Look around your house for AC adapters with a barrel plug, if it fits it'll charge.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/38221661...noapp=true [ebay.com]
The non-USB charging port on the back of this device says it requires 12V. So, in addition to finding a plug that will fit, you need to make sure whatever AC adapter it is connected to provides exactly 12 volts. The wattage/amps are not specified on the control deck (outside of the 5V/2A on the bottom for the USB charging), though it may be provided in the manual (I haven't looked). While you ideally want to provide the minimum it requires, it will only draw what it can, so going over in this regard isn't problematic, and if you go under it may either not charge or just take a lot longer. But plugging in something over 12V can easily damage/destroy the unit. Going under 12V could damage it, or more likely just have it not function properly.
So yeah, be careful and only use a charger that meets the requirements of the thing you are plugging it into.
