At 100' 12 gauge is only rated for 15 amps. At smaller distances, you are correct, 20 amp will run over 12 gauge, but not in this case.

Southwire is a reputable company within the telecom world for their power wiring. I'm not familiar with their extension cords but if I was in the market for one I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them.

12 gauge is rated for 20 amp by the way. Even though the description states 15 Amp. Regardless, it depends on the breaker that cord is connected to.
