For nvidia owners, the key is buying a monitor on their official list. It includes Gsync panels and Certified Gsync compatible monitors. If it's on the list, it is guaranteed to be flicker free w/ gsync.

This monitor is on the list. But the dell curved 32" was not. I have this monitor with a RTX 3080 and I have had zero issues.

All FreeSync is now G-Sync Compatible. This is a great monitor. I use it for Gaming.
I have been doing a ton of Research into 1440p 144hz (min) 27in gaming monitors (and 32) the best two I have determined are this and the LG GL850-B.
This Dell has the better brightness(400 over 350), DisplayHDR 400 (over HDR 10), sRGB 144% over 135%, 165 over 144hz on DP.

I love this monitor. I unfortunately bought it full price from the Dell site a couple months ago, but it's great for PC and Xbox Series X gaming!

I just bought a Dell S2721D this past week and the colors don't pop and the lettering does not look sharp. Do you think I need to tweak the settings or do you think the panel is so much different than this model S2721DGF? Any advise would be greatly appreciated since I am really not impressed with the sharpness of the S2721D

Can someone who owns this test if the included DisplayPort cable is 1.2 or 1.4? If you can enable all of the following simultaneously then it's a DP1.4 cable: set resolution to 2560x1440, 165hz, 10bpc [10 bit 4:4:4 RGB color] in nvidia control panel, and enable HDR.
Thanks, as this will tell me if I also need to buy a DP1.4 cable or not.

Does that include Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti for laptops?

Damn I've been looking for a 27" 2k monitor. This might be it. Someone tell me why I shouldn't get it.
You said you're looking for a 2k monitor, this is 2560 x 1440P (QHD aka WQHD aka 1440p. This monitor is higher than 2k.

That being 1 main reason.

Go buy a Startech dp 1.4 cable (vesa certified) from AMZ. The cable provided is dp1.2 I believe. I have this monitor and am getting a full 165hz and cable is Startech is recognized as dp1.4 and listed as Vesa Certified per displayport dot org.
Likely not a cable issue. The band he's talking about places itself on right side side of monitor like someone cut and paste a very thin strip of vertical pixels from middle of the monitor. Sometimes it's hard to even notice until you're reading text in middle of screen and you letters seemingly smashed together or cut off. This is a known issue with gsync monitors that's common after coming out of a suspended state(like monitor going to sleep). You have to flip power off and on. iirc Dell support blamed it on nvidia gsync for some reason. Something to do with chip they have to use perhaps? In any case, minor, albeit annoying issue. This monitor presumably wouldn't have this issue being that's it's not a gsync chipped monitor.

We're in global pandemic. Nothing is oversupplied and on big sales right now. That said I wonder if they aren't planning on refreshing this model here by end of year.

I have this on a 27" gsync chipped model that's a couple years old. It's a hardware glitch. Per Dell(last I checked like 6 mo ago), it's a problem with GSync module and there was basically nothing they could do about it. Comes from resuming from a suspended state. You turn monitor off and on to clear it.

I'd love to know this too Smilie
I am planning to use this monitor with a laptop, my laptop only has USB C and HDMI port. So I guess I need to buy a USB C to Displayport cable to fully utilize it?

Good for you. What do you want? A cookie? There's plenty of casual gamers out there who don't really care.

Lol? If they don't care, then they won't care if this is G-Sync or FreeSync. Go buy a different monitor. This isn't for you.

Depends if the laptop has a MUX switch to enable G-sync. Most use passthrough on the iGPU which won't allow adaptive sync.
