Only the Platinum card. Also this is in-house cell phone insurance by Amex, Visa and Mastercard's cell phone insurance is administered 3rd party and they are a pain to deal with
To get coverage:
You must charge your monthly Eligible Cellular Wireless Telephone bill to your Eligible Card Account. You are eligible for coverage the first day of the calendar month following the payment of your Eligible Cellular Wireless Telephone bill using your Eligible Card Account. If you pay an Eligible Cellular Wireless Telephone bill with your Eligible Card Account and fail to pay a subsequent bill using your Eligible Card Account in a particular month, your coverage period changes as follows:
Seems to be AIG subsidiary, "Coverage is provided by New Hampshire Insurance Company, an AIG Company."

I know. That's what I contemplated doing because those terms are so stupid. I pointed them out in this thread thinking maybe others would've noticed that Wells Fargo's terms are so bogus, i.e. it's not an extended warranty but a "physical damage" warranty. I guess the fact nobody is talking about it means nobody here uses Wells Fargo CC for their cell phone protection.
Considering I only buy cheap phones (i.e. $100 or less) and I don't like jumping through hoops, I found it simpler just to get a cheap Moto phone as a replacement. Maybe someday I'll get around to accidentally dropping that old phone, but in the meantime I have bigger problems to deal with. My #1 pet peeve with cell phones and tablets are how horribly unreliable cell phone batteries are. All of them bulge on me shortly after the warranty ends. On my latest phone I'm finally trying what someone suggested: use an app which tells me to stop charging at 80%, then I just leave the phone unplugged and recharge at 25%. Unfortunately even sitting mostly idle, the phone goes from 80% to 25% in under 3 days, but we'll see if this strategy avoids the bulging batteries.
Good deal...my guess is that most Platinum holders have no clue what their benefits are, or are too lazy/wealthy to file a claim.
That's my experience with much of the 1%...they value convenience over time.
Amex Plat isn't for one percenter. Their top tier offer is the Centurion aka Amex black card. I work in corporate IT (not making millions a year) and got offered for Amex Plat every 4-5 months. If you travel a lot, their benefits such as widest range of lounge access compared to other cards , up to $200 Uber credit a year, etc. are worth the $550 annual fee.

Totally agree. My experiences dealing with WellsFargo wasn't easy but in the end they paid repair bills on two accidental screen breakages. I use iphones and never had battery bulge problems.

If I had to guess, I'd say less than .01 percent of Amex Platinum holders have ever heard of Slickdeals. And that number is even lower for those that post here!
I never said it wasn't a good deal for bargain hunters, or you had to be in the 1%. I just said the majority of holders are wealthy...they used to claim the average income was nearly 750K for holders.
I guess my point is that it won't be costing Amex very much, as most holders (Most!!!) don't know the benefits.

So now I'm upgraded to a 0.01 percenter 🤣. Thanks to OP gonna convert auto draft to this 👍🏼
My bank offers a 600 dollar cellphone protection thing too. I guess it's getting pretty popular to pull people in.
also it says you have to pay your bill with it. you will lose your 10 dollar discount for auto pay won't you for using your credit card instead of bank account/debt?
You still get the $5 discount with tmobile when paying with cc

Many Plat cardholders may not know about Slickdeal site, but I think you're stretching to say Amex Plat holders aren't aware that the can use Centurion and other lounges when they travel or get Uber ride credits each month. Why else would they apply for the card in the first place if not for the benefits they know the card would give them?
Centurion lounges are created and staffed for the use of Plat and above (Centurion) cardholders. I'd used it a few times as guess of friends and wouldn't call that Amex Corp effort a small expense...

Visas with Wells Fargo has been good for me with Apple at least other phone manufacturers are a little harder to deal with cause they don't have stores for instant swaps on warranty or out of warranty replacements

There is a decent amount of cards that offer this perk, although it's sometimes a pain to actually redeem.
