You can order excellent high capacity AA batteries from IKEA and of course, look for sales on the top brands (Fujitsu runs deals fairly often).
Bottom Line, these Amazon batteries are hit & miss and definitely do not last "forever" .... more like months to a year (although the Amazon rechargeable batteries I purchased PRIOR to 2019 are great and haven't caused me any problems).

Capacity isn't everything with a rechargeable battery, you can just recharge them. But I always want to go with the highest capacity. Just annoying to recharge them all the time. And as they degrade over time, that 2000 mAh will become 1500 mAh and so on.
Never mind that - While EBL batteries may have a capacity of 2500 - 2800 mAh for the listed 2800 batteries, after 1 year they degrade down 85%, compared to amazon basics 97%.... even if those numbers aren't perfectly accurate, its enough to know to avoid em.

EBL have been tested to have terrible internal resistance over time.
So, while they might have higher starting capacity, they drain faster.

Over the years I've used some bad rechargeables such as Energizers, but these AmazonBasics were the absolute worse because no longer did some not charge when I only owned them for about a year with only a couple of charge/discharge cycles, but they also leaked and partially melted a decent charger I owned.
At best they are crappy rechargeables. At worse they can pose a dangerous threat while charging. Stay far away from these and don't be lured in by the cheaper price!

Says on the label "Standard charge 245mA for 16 hours". Does this mean you should not charge at 500mA speed?
I tried charging at 200mA because the next step up for my charger is 500mA. Some of them would not trigger full charge so it kept on charging past 2500mAh and I manually pulled it out at around 3000mAh.
I wonder what amp rate people are charging their AA batteries at.
I'll probably pickup some more next time go to IKEA.
I think the Amazon Basics are better than EBL brand.
IKEA e-commerce is shit even before COVID. Their online order processing and customer service is completely dysfunctional, phone wait time is longer than USPS
