This is an inverter generator so you will be able to power all of your sensitive computer and electronic devices. It can also slow down based on usage so it can run quieter when you are not using a full load. This normally sells for around $900 and is a very solid inverter generator and at 6250 watts, the most you will find in an inverter without spending $2-$3k

I installed a transfer switch to my panel and it powers my entire 1200sq foot house including all lights, gas furnace, fridge, tv's, computers, window AC, etc. The only thing this will struggle with is Central AC.

HIGHLY recommend this inverter generator

EFI generators are now available in the market though it's newer technology for portable generators so there are fewer options. Check the data plates on the products you want to run - add the amperage up and that will determine the size of generator you want to purchase.

Have had this for a year, paid $999. it replaced a 5000W Champion I had for 10 years which ran flawlessly. The inverter is not only better in general, but it specifically is compatible with UPS units. I installed several over the years owing to our flaky power. My old square wave generator would not recharge them, and they would continue to draw on their own batteries so I had to go around moving all the plugs to outlet strips. This one recharges them fine. Two thumbs, great price on a great unit.

That's due to the varying frequency of the AC from a standard generator. UPS's can account for it (rather, their settings can be changed to not kick on/off haphazardly) but manufacturers only include that functionality in high end units (although if I were buying a UPS for a commercial server environment I don't think I'd ever be rolling in a Duromax to power it either).

The fuel savings of inverter generators is because they can throttle according to load. Theoretically at least, since in an inverter there is a conversion from AC to DC to AC (e.g. an extra steps vs direct AC generation), at some load the losses present in that inversion should come into play; you'd have to find 2 very similar inverter/standard generators to test that out though, as the larger the generator the less fuel efficient it will be.

Yeah, fuel savings are altogether different but with the assumption of running at capacity , the efficiencies i was referring to were along the lines of the conversion process required to clean up and maintain the consistent sinewave.. You would have to know the output of the motor and components to estimate the loss, its not alot..

Typically inverter generators consume less fuel, because they can idle down whenever you aren't using peak load. They are slightly less efficient at peak load though.

A bit much for what? Is that at full load? What is gph on the other gen you are considering? Lowest I've seen is 0.1 gph but doesn't the consumption depend on the generation capacity you require? If you'd rather not engage in that charity then burn a tax-free fuel like propane.

Portable generators support loads not houses. You can save big by buying a 2000 watt gen and turning off all loads that exceed 2k watts including inrush surge.
