Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

So traded in 2 XR for two 12 Pro and today wanted to do 12 Pro Max instead and even though the phones didn't ship, they wont do it!
Whether or not the phones have shipped yet is irrelevant. They would have to re-do the entire process and there is a possibility that the promotional code that they have to enter wouldn't work unless a manager approves it which would in the end, make life more difficult for you.

Wow, live and learn. Thanks. I knew that these things won't survive a multi-hour bath in 6 feet depth but thought that they're otherwise waterproof.
There is no such thing as a waterproof phone. drown it long and deep enough and water will get in. water resistant is what they claim their phones are.

Yes that's the issue and I asked for a manager and well they said they could not overide the system. Really sucks I didn't choose the right phone. My biggest issue I'm reading is battery life is, significantly better with the max... It was a rushed process with such a busy weekend and I didnt get time to research enough...

I see your point. I'm sure those who purchased $200 old phone can easy flip and at least net $300 after fees.

Those who owned an old phone, would rather trade it in. It doesn't make sense to keep an old phone. It doesn't have anymore warranty, and the battery life probably somewhere in 80%. Sell for less than $200 and hassle with lowballer or get free upgrade.

Still one of the best deal than adding a line or reactivating old line.
For $300 profit, you have to pay the 24 months credit upfront before selling the phone, stuck on T-mobile for 2 years.

Keeping an old phone is not that bad if you protect the phone WELL, especially when we factor out the depreciation of the new iPhone 12 (used iPhone 12 will probably be around $400 when new iPhone released this year). Battery replacement is cheap and easy at Apple store or DIY so you can even use the phone for another 2 years.

Anyway, it's all depends on your situation, this deal is good for some, but not for everybody.

Seems like the iphone 12 pro max's battery life is 10% better, is a bigger phone, and has a better camera. It would have been worth the extra $100!

Has it showed up on your EIP page? If so, they've assigned you the phones and probably packaged/shipped it.

For the people crying about T-Mobile 'locking' you in for two years, I've been with T-Mobile for 7 years and for the past four years, have never paid for a phone myself. The price is lower than what I would pay Verizon or AT&T and there are free line promotions every year. It would be great if they still offered a prepaid card instead but if they did that and people just canceled their T-Mobile service after so they can abuse the promotion, they wouldn't be able to offer these phones for relatively free in the future. All I know is I'm paying less than I would have paid AT&T or Verizon, I'm getting free phones every two years (actually making a profit) and now I'm getting unlimited 5G/4G on all phones under my line. I don't know what there isn't to like other than if T-Mobile's service sucks in your area.

Try to paid your phone off early, unlock and sell it as new, then you can use that money to buy a Pro Max somewhere else. Don't try to mess up with all of these trade-in credit.

Where do we find credit listed in the account ?
Go to your account -> bill & pay -> scroll to bottom and click equipment installment plans & JUMP! on Demand

Also, for anyone who wants to look for transaction receipts that show your trade in value and credits if you didn't get them in store you can go to your account -> bill & pay -> account history
