For what it's worth, I've not been that impressed with the interface. I also have worked with Eufy, Nest, and Ring cameras, and they are all superior. I still keep these around because they were cheap and easy to install, and the cloud storage is still free for me. If that ever ends, I'll ditch them for something better.
I bought 2 of these Blink XT2's in the fall of 2019. Still brand new and sealed. Never signed up for an account nor set them up.
So if I set it up now, no more free cloud? That was the main selling point when I bought them.

I have no experience with Eufy or Nest but I prefer Blink over my Ring floodlight cams and doorbells.

The same misinformation keeps getting repeated in this thread. XT and XT2 still have 2hrs of cloud storage free. You did not need to sign up by a certain date.
XT2, XT and Indoor (gen 1) cameras receive 7200 seconds of basic could storage per Sync Module, free for life.
People are getting confused because if you add newer models to your system you don't get the free 2hrs the XT and XT2 get unless you signed up by a certain date and get grandfathered in.
Used against you in court?? Dang, what you gonna do, pull an Aaron Hernandez?

The best WiFi based systems without fees I found were:
This XT2 system and the Arlo Pro 2. I have both set up and just use the Blink now based on the great app, the ease of setup/settings/notifications, and battery life.
If you get your settings correct, the XT2 detection will pick up exactly how much and where you want it to with pretty amazing quality and night vision considering the small size. The batteries last forever as long as you take time to get settings. It has really good detection. If you get the free 2hr account, I challenge anyone to show a better system considering: price, ease of install, quality of camera/app, ease of settings and overall maintenance.
Edit: eufy is probably my pick for fee free indoor cams (powered, not cordless). They are cheap, go on sale a lot, and offer a nice range from HD to 2K. They have very nice detection programs, even recognizes pets. One thing that worries me with them is privacy/safety. Blink I'm less worried about, if there is a serious breach I know Amazon can cover it.

So if you have the OG account from back in the day, you get cloud storage with the newer blinks?

If you do it through USB do you still have access to to the app. Is this set up like the ring system?

If adding Blink Indoor and Outdoor cameras to an existing Blink system that has been activated on or before 4/15/20, you will be grandfathered into your current free cloud storage model in the Blink app.
