I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

What is a good value for points? Are these points especially good for book travel/other vs using $ or supplier points i.e. Skymiles.

Feel free to do it. The PYB option applied to both my past Lowes and Home Depot GC purchases without any issues.

Hi, has anyone successfully used PYB for Lowes and Home Depot by buying gift cards?

Thanks,

Since you can get 1.25 cents by default through chase PYB or portal (or 1.5 cents per point if you also have CSR access in your household, a good value is the 2-2.5 cents per point you can get transferring to some partners for coach tickets or Hyatt hotels.... and a great value is the 3-6 cents a point you can get transferring for business class airfare.

(you can get even higher than 3-6 cents pp for first class international, but while coach->biz is typically a huge upgrade on such flights I don't usually find Biz->first nearly as worth the added, often 2x, cost)

Could anyone chime in regarding how the $50 hotel bonus works?. Supposedly you can use it right away if you got the card after the 16th, I booked a hotel overseas thru the chase app last night, today the charge disappeared (makes sense since the booking is in 3 weeks) but how do I know if the $50 applied to this booking?.
Quote from Tazmania99 :
Hotel booking is somewhat different from purchase from grocery stores because booking is just a reservation and the service is yet to be provided. Therefore the booking charge is only for recording purposes and the charge itself will be on pending until you actually lodge in the hotel and use the service. A pending charge usually drops from the account in 1 or 2 days.
In that case, the charge disappearance has nothing to do with the $50 hotel credit.

I suppose Joshs1930 could call Chase customer service...
who might then refer him to the UR rewards department because it's a travel related question ...
who might then refer him back to the customer service department because it's a New Member offer issue ...
or he could take it on faith that he will be properly credited when he is eventually billed for the hotel.

That's not very reassuring lol plus it sounds like a lot of work just to get some info.

I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope I get the credit.

I was able to sign up approximately 4 days after downgrading my Reserve card to a Freedom Unlimited. I did have to call the reconsideration line to move some credit line from one of my other Chase cards, but they then approved it with no problem. My wife should get the 20,000 points for the referral, and I should come away with another 100,000. Glad I was able to get in on this deal. I should have my new card in a couple of days.

Questions on the PYB 1.25:
Will there be rotating categories or does it just end on 9/30/21? Also, do you have to have the purchases by then or redeem the points for the purchases by then?

Can I transfer UR points to the CSP from another card and use for the 1.25 PYB prior to getting the bonus?

The grocery credit offer expired last month and has been replaced by hotel credit.

1. The PYB option is supposedly going to end on 09/30/21.

2. PYB option applies to purchases in eligible categories made in the past 90 days, which means you must have made the eligible purchases for PYB redemption by 09/30 if Chase is not further extending the program.

3. You can transfer your UR points from any other accounts of yours as long as they are within the Ultimate Rewards family. Point transfer is usually done instantly. You can also transfer points between household members.

You can transfer and use existing UR pts to cover your PYB purchases -- I've been doing that with my eligible purchases

No one knows if PYB will be extended or what categories they'll add/remove if they do -- we'll just have to wait and see

There are no answers to your questions.

The only announcement Chase made back in March was that the Pay Yourself Program would be extended through September 30th.
  • They didn't say the program would "end" on September 30th (that's just our presumption).
  • They were silent about any further rotating categories.
  • They have similarly been silent as to whether purchases need to be made by September 30 or whether redemptions must be completed by that date.
  • And if Chase follows true to form, no further announcements will be forthcoming.
In the absence of any guidance from Chase, I would recommend that you take the conservative approach and assume that REDEMPTIONS must be completed by September 30.

EDIT: PYB extended thru December 31, 2021. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ch...r-31-2021/

EDIT2: Question whether PYB extension is true:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=149977027&postcount=5097

Edit3: PYB extended to 3/31/2022, limited categories for redemption.
