This popular clamp fan is now available for in store pickup. Seems to be available at some of the zip codes I checked. Just snagged 3 for some future trips.

I have two of the larger (10") fan. I bought them for $20/ea on Direct Tools when they had a sale. These clamp fans are just 4", so I imagine $20 is the regular price. They were popular last time around because of the novelty factor and because many sd-ers hadn't seen them yet, but it's hardly a deal. I can see that size seeming attractive under certain circumstances, but the battery is going to weigh these down regardless. If you need something to cool you down while watching your kids' games from a camp chair, which is basically the only legitimate use I see for these, then I personally think the bottle-top misting fans will work a lot better.
been awhile since ive read a comprehensive yet simple to read review. much appreciated as a diehard ryobi guy.

In for two. Found them in the box fan/mister/cooler section in its own standup display. Awesome little fan. Had to take to work to show my techs. This thing blows better than my wife..just sayin.
I had gone into my store and asked where they were, and they had no idea they even existed.
Of course they didnt even know they sold pool paint which I found on the shelf..

Hubby has the larger one , wonder how much of a downgrade this would be. He's a UPS driver, so the clip feature would be nice. But when its 100 in a truck, I don't think it matters. laugh out loud

What is the battery life like? I would love a fan in my tent on warmer camping trips but can it run for hours on end?

Heads up to you east coast folks who might be looking for this. I was told they're expecting a shipment around 6/18. Two reps from two different stores told me the same, one of them even commented that every store is getting 16.

Why is it such a problem that OP didn't mention that battery and charger are not included? I would have never guessed the OP was meant to collect clicks with the post. Were we really to believe we could get a fan, battery, and charger for $20? I'm kind of confused by the vitriol.
why not. its slickdeals after all. thats what we expected. we were expecting a $20 for everything deal.

wait until the next post is for a $20 color laser printer without toners.

They seem to be having some supply chain issues with this product so they're coming in and out of stock pretty quickly in different areas. Weren't any to be had where I live last week, now every store within 100 miles has a couple dozen at least.

Like I said before, they're decent fans if you're already invested in the Ryobi battery system but nothing super special. At $20 I think it's a solid personal fan if you've already got the batteries but it's not something I'd pay inflated eBay/Craigslist prices for.

These are really just getting overhyped because the stores keep putting these in idiotic locations within the warehouse (far away from the rest of the tools) and Ryobi seems to be hitting social media pretty hard promoting this item because of the low price point.

Of the new releases from Ryobi this year the area light 2-pack and compact radios are probably the most interesting from a DIY homeowner perspective.
wow,pretty nice,thanks for sharing this.

I bought 2 from my local HD. They do a decent job of pushing air for the size if you are on top of it. In reality, not sure I will keep either as I can't really see many uses for them

Depending on the size of battery you used I think you could easily run it overnight. I'm not aware of any tests that have been done but just based on how long it's lasting for my light use at home you could probably get several days of overnight use out of it with one of the larger 4mah batteries.

BUT for use in a tent I would suggest the larger 10" fan if you can make it work. This tiny fan is LOUD. Surprisingly close to the same volume as the 10" fan but it moves much less air and has a much more "directional" airflow. It blows directly at what you point it at and doesn't really move the air around you at all.
The 10" fan is big enough to really move air in a small room and has the ability to run off AC power if you have an extension cord. Battery life wouldn't be as good but if you used a 4mah battery you could get it to run overnight and then just charge the battery during the day.
