Not sure if someone else asked this, but will citi do a hard inquiry or a soft pull for this card?

It is $500 per month so, $1500 per quarter same as Chase/Discover though not same as you can't do a big $1500 purchase.

Costco will accept master card in online payment so buy costco cash card and use it in store

"5% cash back on your top eligible spend category up to $500 spent each billing cycle."

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If I lets say use this card only for restaurants and nothing else, restaurants will be my top spend category every single billing cycle, meaning this card is effectively a no-fee 5% cashback card on restaurants every month of the year?
Applied, initially a delayed decision message, now approved for 9900 limit.
810 TU, 813 Equifax, 778 Experian.
Shows up as a hard-pull on Experian.

Seems like a great card if you are diligent about using it just for the one category to maximize points. If you can transfer points to a premium citi card, you can get a great value that's even better than 5%

That makes no sense. It's just TY points. You can cash out TY points whenever you want.
I have no experience with TY points or Citibank and none are in my area

So how easy is it to redeem $12 worth or whatever at full value?

My primary card is fidelity and they used to be $50 but went down to $25 within the last year or so

Yes, it sounds like there's a $300 offer in branch, but might be YMMV.

If my "top" category is 20% of my expense. I will get 5% but all other is only 1% so for rest 80% is only 1% cashback. But citi double cash card gives flat 2% for all. I do not see benefit, unless I keep buying one category stuff only with this card and all other with citi double cash. Smilie

The benefit is to only use it for up to $500 per month and only in the top category. And, does the double cash have the $200 bonus?

Applied at branch with an 835 score and didn't get instant approval. Have to wait for a letter. Annoying.
