I called CITI to see if I can replace my old card (which will be useless with this new card) and they said the promotion will not be applied if we switch
I went to the branch in NYC, applied, and got rejected after a few days. So I applied again today online with that credit karma link $300 when you spend $1000, and got approved! What a life in the USA!
I cannot find the Credit Karma link $300, can you PM the link please? TIA.
Do these points expire? I read something that they have to be used in 3 months for this particular promo. Kinda iffy about staying with this card if that's the case. Chase points never expire unless you close the account
Yes, their reps are Indian morons when you reach them. Frustrated if you need call them 😜
Whoah...generalizing an entire nationality. No wonder your country is going down the toilet with the great divide, drugs and lack of education. Look in the mirror.
When signup bonuses are taken into account, this is overall likely a lousy choice for most people, except maybe for people who want just one or two credit cards and never plan to get any more.
Its $200 signup bonus is woefully dwarfed by the many cards offering $500, $1000, even more in signup value. And its 5% on one category -- max $25/month -- is not all that exciting when you take into account the 2% no-fee cards available.
So imagine a spend of $500 a month on the 5% category, and $1000/month on other stuff.
With this card, that's ($500 x 5%) + ($1000 x 1%), or $35/month
With a 2% card, you'd earn $30/month.
$5/month isn't worth giving up a huge signup bonus for.
What cards currently offering $500+ sign up bonuses?
I don't think Citi pays the bonus. A tracker counts down till when the bonus spending is met, then disappears shortly before the new billing cycle. The customer service number has eventually (if at all) answered in America when calling the US number.
Edit: Voted down because of bonus issue
the website and customer service are poor, but if you saw a sign it was a tracked then you can be pretty sure their computer will give it to you
Really wish more cards offered a home utilities category. There is a card by US Bank which has this but they're super sensitive to people with lots of cards. I have over 800 FICO and got denied by them. Don't know of any other card that offers that category.

I have that card but rarely change it for anything but "Electronic Stores" and "Department Stores".
