I understand club warehouse purchases or insurance payments don't qualify for the 5%, but do they count toward meeting the $750 spending for the bonus points? Thanks!

Yes. It counts towards it. It's any spending balance.

wont be easy to get 750$ visa gift card from CVS to get 25$ cashback but less 5.95 extra charges cvs does (or 500$ and 250$ in 2 different bill cycles)? Use that at anywhere including club warehouse or insurances.

Thanks for the suggestion. So I can also buy $500 visa gift card at Safeway and it will count as 5% back at a grocery store?

yes, that should work as well.

This was discussed on this thread already also, like these posts:

There was a similar offer but for $300 or 3000 points, I got the card and bonus, but 5% capped at $25... Not worth it.

There better cards offering $200/$300 bonus with unlimited 2% cashback

Think and apply

I keep seeing this at top page for me.

User beware. Citibank will not back you on a dispute. Even if you provided evidence, tracking, UPS awards an insurance claim to the retailer, and you file a CMFB complaint. They are a scam bank that ruined the economy once. Dont trust them

for those poo-pooing the card, you know there is such a thing as..having multiple cards that best suit your needs..

..no need to have over fifteen like i do, but this is easily one of the best cards currently out there, for this "5% top category" niche—even if you used this exclusively for 5% on groceries, it's unbeatable (by any non-af cards). HOWEVER, it is of course best combined with 1) a quarterly card like discover it or chase freedom flex, and 2) a 2% card like their own double cash, the new wells fargo active rewards, etc.

no one with any credit card savvy is advising that you replace a 2% everything card with this one, that would be ridiculous. and yes, earning caps do still suck, though. and yes a higher sign-up bonus can make up for a different rewards earning rate..but if you're not looking to sock-drawer it, do the math and see how it works out after the first year, and your spending habits, and all that. no one-size-fits-all here.

Same payout (with a higher spend, but who cares) with a card that offers a lower cashback percentage and on fewer categories. I fail to see how it's better in any way (and I have the Savor card btw ... it sits in my wallet unused).

I have had mixed results with them on dispute, but a recent experience did leave a bad taste in my mouth. It was for a botched car repair and the owner of the shop ghosted me when I tried to get him to redo the job. I went to another shop, had it redone and had the mechanic state WHY it was redone right on the receipt I uploaded this document to Citi when I first filed the dispute. Citi then requested the document. I called and they confirmed they received it and it was just a mixup. A few weeks later I get a nastygram: "We haven't received the item we asked for and if you don't send it we're going to rule against you." I called them again. So sorry, we made a mistake again. No worries, it will all be handled. Another 1-2 weeks ago by and now the dispute is closed. You didn't send us this letter we asked for blah blah. I called and they, again, apologized for the error. We will get this reopened because obviously you did send us what we needed. Nope. Dispute remained closed in the merchant's favor and the official reason is that I never sent the requested document. The document is still right there on my account attached to the dispute. Nonetheless, I could never get it resolved and I ultimately paid $1,000 for what was initially a $400 job. I expected better considering we spend $50k+ per year on that very same card.

Even though they aren't a government entity, file a BBB complaint. I had a woman contact me in January (6 months after my problem) and she reopened the dispute (for now). My issue is with Best Buy playing games with tracking numbers, accepting a return, claiming they mailed an accepted return back to me, which ended up two towns over, Best Buy filing an insurance claim with UPS, and UPS granting it to them for almost $2000 and Citi Bank....who are Best Buy's credit card bank, not cooperating at all. I also filed a CFPB complaint against Citi three weeks ago(after the BBB woman contacted me), but have not heard back.

My credit rating has been well into the 800's for years and I pay every credit card balance off every single month, yet I get rejected (and I already have a Citi DoubleCash Mastercard that I've been using for years.) My live-in fiancee just got a pre-selected mailing from Citi for this same exact card today and the only reason she has any credit card usage at all is because I added her to most of my credit cards as an authorized user. What kind of crap is this? Mad
So, I received a Credit Karma email today saying that my chances of being approved for this card are "outstanding" (even though I was rejected before back in August.) My income and credit score has stayed steady since then so I figured what the hell apply again and see what happens. To my surprise, I was instantly approved now! WTF?

Anyone with this card know if it has the Virtual Account Number (VAN) benefit?
