I don't know if I'd be ready to trust Eufy yet with an indoor camera after they let other people view others camera feed and recordings history.

I started with Wyze, then upgraded to Eufy based on the "easy RTSP" and 2k statements. However, there is some misinformation about it. In case it helps somebody, Eufy's RTSP stream is limited to 1080p, not 2k. That matches Wyze. I added all my indoor cameras to Blue Iris and blocked their Internet access. The Eufy app doesn't allow you to access the cameras without Internet even if you are connected to the LAN, but the RTSP stream works and you can access the recordings via Blue Iris/other NVR.

I said the same thing in the same thread and got downvoted by all of the eufy paid shrills here. Pretty pathetic actually.

EDIT: Keep downvoting me you paid shills. The real SD'ers appreciate the truth.

I'm wondering how you would be getting notifications and be able to use the AI human detection if you cannot use the app once cameras are blocked from the internet? I'm interested in going this route from a security/privacy standpoint but I just realized this would severely gimp the camera's other features.

I rely on Deepstack for that. It has been integrated into BI recently and the setup is pretty painless.

I received my cam yesterday (arrived in one day). and set it up immediately. This is my first eufy product. I have one Nest IQ Indoor and had one Kasa KC200 (sold it last week btw).
I'm pretty much impressed with my Eufy P24 cam.

Nest vs Eufy:
- Eufy notifications are instant when compared to Nest IQ Indoor (nest notifications are always delayed). Local AI is awesome.
- Nest's app is killing my iPhone (known issue), as it drains the battery and it gets really hot while streaming live or saved footage. No battery draining while using Eufy app. This is important for me. I contacted Google several times and they pretty much don't care Nest products anymore, so I'm pretty much done with Google cameras.
- You can't see Nest's night vision red LEDs, but Eufy red LEDs are really visible (not an issue for me).
- Nest's scrolling event is awesome (I was sold on that future), I hope Eufy will implement that in the future...

Kasa vs Eufy:
- There is nothing that Kasa cam has that's missing with Eufy cam. However, Eufy is way better than Kasa in many ways. You need to pay KasaCare in order to get a picture/snapshot of an event that triggered the motion.
- KasaCam, you can't save video on your phone unless you pay for KasaCare...
- Kasa needs to come up with better features if they want to charge the customers...

I have the Eufy 2k doorbell and two of these 2k cameras and they have been very good. I will sat in the first week or two the cameras sitting lower at ground level did an amazing job and ever the human and pet AI worked for the most part. When I moved the cameras to upstairs window locations instead for wider views, the AI works a lot less well. The motion detection still needs work . There are many nice options like record in sounds, motion detection zones (hit and miss) and continuous recording, which may be the best security option but there are not enough legit motion events to know what to look at. Again, at a lower level these work better but mounted higher it's more of continuous recording option. I have a couple annke nova IP PTZ cameras that works well (motion is spot in but limited, no AI) but the motion recording out a window is excellent. Quality does not compare to the eufy 2k. A mix of these eufy cams and maybe some of cheaper wired ones would be great. The app is good and I like the consolidated events from all cameras. yes it can be redundant but that's fine. overall there isn't a better bang for the buck than eufy 2k right now.

Yes, pan and tilt still work in the Eufy Security app just fine when you have HomeKit enabled. Within the Home app or other HomeKit apps you will only have a live video feed available without the pan/tilt control.
The problem is if you remove from Eufy Security app, you lose the pan and tilt support in HomeKit Frown

Huh? You don't ever have pan and tilt support in HomeKit in the first place with this camera. Yes, you would lose any ability to use pan/tilt because you could only do it in the Eufy app, but you're not losing anything in HomeKit by doing so.

For anyone who's curious about Eufy vs Wyze, the Eufy Pan & Tilt is hands down way better.
  • The Wyze cameras may be a bit cheaper but it only records events for 15 seconds unless you pay a monthly subscription fee.
  • Wyze's AI Person Detection is hot garbage. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A camera reboot usually fixes it except you have to reboot almost every day. For example, I was waiting for an expensive FedEx delivery yesterday and the Wyze camera wouldn't detect the delivery guy walking up my steps.
  • Eufy records at 2k and Wyze is only 1080p, so sharper image with the Eufy.
Honestly, I wouldn't be so salty with Wyze if the damn AI Detection actually worked correctly.

So far I've been happy with the Eufy Pan & Tilt. My only criticism is that it doesn't tilt downward as far as the Wyze. So you have to physically angle the Eufy if you need more downward coverage (i.e. seeing more of the floor to monitor pets).

Eufy 2k cams record in 2k if it is NOT set to Continuous Recording (24/7)!

It has a notice if you turn on Continuous Recording it will only record in 1080!

Nope. 128 max until/unless they do a firmware update sometime to support it. Not yet, though.

For what it's worth, I have a 128GB Samsung EVO card in mine with it set to record continuously (not just motion events) at 1080p resolution with audio and I get nearly 2 months of footage before it deletes the oldest stuff. As I type this, my recordings go all the way back to April 28th.

It doesn't automatically delete when it gets full right?

And I'm not impressed with Eufy's AI person detection, either. I suspect it's only trained to detect people from a particular perspective/distance. It rarely detects them in my application, and once or twice it has deemed them "Pets". You know, the two-legged variety lol.

Yes, it's a rolling delete just like most security systems I've ever dealt with. Once memory is full, new footage replaces the oldest footage.
