2012--End of the World? Your thoughts welcome.

Okay, so I have an older sister who is OBSESSED with reading about 2012 and the Mayan Long Count calendar. She is absolutely convinced that the Mayans were onto something and that Armageddon is just a stone's throw away.

This morning she called to tell me about a movie that is being released in November called 2012 that is, obviously, about the end times.

Okay, so aside from the fact that my husband and I think she is a one french fry short of a Happy Meal on this issue, she appears pretty normal about other issues/situations. But she harps on this 2012 all the time to anyone who will listen.

I finally Googled it and read a little but don't find it to be any more or less impressive than the Nostradamus (sp?) guy. I think people can pretty much read anything they want into things.

So my question is, anyone here ever spent any time reading about this 2012 stuff? Thoughts?

I would imagine a Hooker going to church would be a stressful experience, lol, hence she would break into a nervous sweat?

My husband uses that one sometimes.

[Insert fav search site here] is your friend!!

...fromwikipedia John Titor is the name used on several bulletin boards during 2000 and 2001 by a poster claiming to be a time traveler from the year 2036. In these posts he made numerous predictions (a number of them vague, some quite specific[1]) about events in the near future, starting with events in 2004. He described a drastically changed future in which the United States had broken into five smaller regions, the environment and infrastructure had been devastated by a nuclear attack, and most other world powers had been destroyed.

Hey, I'll have you know, because of my sister I've already had to Google "Mayan Long Calendar" and read that crap. Now you want me to Google John Titor, too? Mad Mad

Google alerted me that I had already reached my quota for the year and must now rely on the generosity of my friends for knowledge. Stick Out Tongue
