Amazon reviews all warn that the warranty on this is bogus and if something fails it won't be covered by Panasonic due to it being an "obsolete model". So good luck with that.

Awesome deal.

Also, the bundle with charging/cleaning station is $150, and very much worth it IMO. Been using this for 4 years. Shave during my commute and just leave it in the car, been exposed to prolonged sunlight, travelled the world with me, bumped around in whatever crevice of my car that I could shove it in. The silver paint is pretty chipped and now it looks black. But still works like new and holds more than a week worth of charge.

This replaced a Norelco 9 series. The rotary shaver was easier on the skin but the Arc5 is just more straight forward to use, and felt more efficient. YMMV

I don't know whether that specific claim is accurate or not, but what I do know is Panasonic is one of the worst large corporations for warranty support. Warranty support is handled by a third party warranty fulfillment company out of McAllen, TX... and it seems their main goal is to deny warranty claims. That said, Panasonic typically builds high quality products, but if something DOES go wrong, expect the warranty center to do whatever they can do to avoid warranty service... (ie, claim you did not buy from auth seller, ask for original receipt, require you to pay all shipping costs, claim failure was due to abuse and not defect, etc, etc).

Do you guys do wet or dry shaves? After only ever doing dry, I tried out wet shaving a few weeks ago and wound up with horrible razor burn. It was a more comfortable shave, and definitely felt closer. Is that something that'll eventually go away, or just bad luck with the genetics?
Just a suggestion. Try getting Remington Face Saver Pre Shave which works wonders in smoothing out your dry shave and preventing razor burn. I personally won't shave w/o using it. Works wonders along w/ my Panasonic Arc5.

Panasonic is by far my favorite. Tried all the brands. Was going to buy a new foil and blade. Just $20 more and got a new one.

I too highly recommend, the charging/cleaning station is kind of a must have though.

You have to have the cleaning station mainly for just the drying after cleaning with soap and water.

This thing is WAY better than norelco. It's meant for soft Asian skin.
Rinse thoroughly. Shake off water, towel dry the body then Dip the foil and blades into isopropyl alcohol and shake it dry. Take the foil off and set it out to air dry. Been doing it this way for 20 years of Panasonic wet/dry shavers.

I tried doing it in the shower with just the water running and occasionally washing my face. Maybe I'll give it a go with a little bit of soap or lotion.
Use a good lathering shave gel/foam or good lathering shave soap. I just use dove bar soap personally. Lather on face and rub the bar on the wet foil to get it going inside the shaver where the blades are.

yep, I put the bar of soap directly on my wet face then use the shaver in the shower.

Yeah that works great too, but you need a thing of alcohol handy and change it when It gets yucky etc. I rather rinse and throw it on the charger / air dryer

Do I look like a barber?

This is my best, closest shaver ever. The cleaning station is not necessary as you can easily clean the shaver with liquid soap and warm water. And why constantly spend money on cleaning solution?

I have an LV67 which costs more. Any difference with this one? I don't understand why they have both versions as they are both ARC5.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W7XK...HFM4ECCJ37

I have owned Braun and Norelco, but I like the Panasonic more.
The LV67 is the same as this one except for 2 differences, The displays are different and this one has the option to turn off the automatic shaving pressure sensor.

Did you do it right? I use to hate wet shaving because I thought wet shaving was just "put water on skin and use shaver" and that would make my skin all grippy and annoying while shaving.

I bought this arc5 to replace my arc 3 and I didn't know what to do wtih the arc 3 so I decided to abuse it in the shower and shave my pubic area. Then I had an epiphany, why only use water when I can lather soap and make the skin area SUPER SLIPPERY instead lol.

So that's what I did, seems to work just as well as dry shaving. Not sure if it's better than dry shaving but.. Seems to do the trick.
I might perform the same experiments on my boys if I do not like this razor and need to return it.
